I confess, I'm not the typical 'Vette guy. Now my younger brother...HE is a 'Vette guy. Shoot I went and purchased my 2004 'Vette because I had $30K sitting around and thought it could be better served in a car that should appreciate. So I purchased a 2004 LaMan's Commemorative Ed. It is spotless and there is less than 14,000 miles on her. Purchased it 3 years ago and I have amassed around 300 miles on it. Always garaged and cared for. She is #47 out of 2025. Question I'd have is to whether or not I should sell her. Although I do love the car I'm wondering if it would be more appreciated by another. Can someone give me an idea of it's value and where it might be in the land of collectibles? In the 3 years I have see 1 of these with less miles. You may contact me at wolfwredroses77@yahoo.com Photo is a stock but appears a twin to mine.
I hate to break it to you, but C5 corvettes (even the '04 commemorative edition) are NOT good investments if you're trying to make money. Corvette prices (and used cars in general) are up, so this would probably be the best time for you to sell. There are a lot of better ways to actually invest that money.

Agree with the prior post. These cars are made to be driven with fun experiences for you and anyone that sees you in it. But, if you are young enough, just maybe you will, sometime in the distance future, get what you paid for it if you decide to sell.

I agree with both posts. To each their own, but I bought my car to enjoy it while driving it, not storing it. I recently saw an interesting quote on the forum that I'll never forget. While a bit crass, there is some truth to this guy's quote.
"Buying a Corvette and not driving it to keep the miles low for resale is like having a beautiful girlfriend that you won't bang, keeping it tighter for the next guy"!!
Like others have said, there won’t be much appreciation on your 2004. These cars are not collectibles. If you have an extremely low mileage 2004 Commemorative Edition Z06, it may appreciate down the road. The used car market is the highest it ever has been. Now is the time to sell it if you want to get the most for it.
Hey, thanks for the responses, I'll consider them but still unsure what I'll do. Fact is I did buy as an alternative to the $$ sitting in a bank. Also it was what I'd call entertainment money, I surely wouldn't place my future finances in a car. I believe I could sell now for a profit, I see one available at $39,900, but might yet prefer the car to cash. I do enjoy driving the car, maybe I could "get into" that but I'm not young, turn 62 in a week. I have a little convertible that I do love to drive. It's an '08 Saturn Sky with about 50K miles on it. The Vette having such low miles (13,700) just doesn't motivate me to make it a daily driver. Seems the consensus advice is to drive it? Ok assuming I don't sell right?
