Suggestion for future tires
Hello all, I have a question for ya. I just recently had my car tuned and it runs like an absolute beast now. I mean if traction control is off, I get tire smoke and a sideways car pretty much anywhere under 30 or so mph. I figure the cheap tires I have on the car are contributing to that, so I am going to be in the market to replace the soon to be worn out rears at least. I had some friends suggest running drag radials on the back such as the Nitto's but I am uncertain. My car is a 2000 with the A&A kit on it putting down a little over 500 to the rear wheels. With the TransGo shift kit and the 3.42 gears in the back, the car shifts very hard which I like, but I breaks them loose immediately off the line, and on the 1-2 shift. If I don't back out right away, and then again after the shift, then the smoking tires are at the mercy of my ruthless right foot. I was wondering if any of you could recommend some sticky tires that can hold their own against some aggressive acceleration. My Vette is a fair weather machine and since I live in the southern California desert wet roads are not a concern. My baby never sees them.

I'm running some Toyo R888R's and really like them. I'm 600 rwhp and they are doing good so far. How many miles I'll get out of them, not sure. I just cruise mine with every now and than spirited driving. Mickey Thompson SS and Nitto 01's are other options. Dont expect many miles out of all these mentioned, but they will hook up for sure.
