Default C5 Lumbar issues

Bought a beautiful 99 C5. The lumbar features on both seats do not work. Checked out both pumps and they are working. Seems the next most obvious are the bladders... But seems odd all of them would be bad... Any ideas and if it is bladders would you consult a mechanic or a car upholstery person.

My 99 had the same issue with 7 of the 8 bladders.......The nipples on the bladders break down to dust with age. I got all new bladders which are an upgrade to the original from Lyle and C&S corvettes...they worked perfect and its a 30 min install for all of them on both seats taking your time.........Other folks use blood pressure cuffs which you can modify to fit for less money, but I went with the real deal...It was just shy of 200 shipped for all......

I watched the video from Lyle...I am fairly handy but the job as his video shows seems complicated.
If you had not done it yourself would you have used a mechanic or an auto upholstery person.

Its easier than you think.....I never did one and it went in pretty easy......I would try it or at least try to get at the old ones to see the broken nipples.....Good luck

When you say both pumps are working, do you mean both are running, or both are actually pumping air? Lyle has a video out that explains how the pumps can run and run, but pump no air, due to the vanes being stuck/clogged. The video shows how you can clean them. Just trying to help....

If you do not feel comfortable doing the job yourself, a good upholstery shop should be able to do the install.
