Default I wish tires..

Existed. 😐

About ready to give up after days of searching. Good old pandemic. The front size is available (for now) but trying to find a 305/35/18 is driving me nuts. I was set on the nitto 555r2/G2 combo. The G2's I can find, but the rears are nowhere to be found. There may be some nt01's around..

Im open to suggestions. My day drinking idea hasn't gotten me any closer so far..I mean, I'm making a tire post..

Does this mean you "re-tired" for the day
I feel you. Was trying to buy some simple Michelins and everyone was out. Finally ordered two from one place and two from another to get the set.

I did check simple as well. They along with a few others have the rears, but not the front. The hunt continues.

Oh yeah. Could care less about tire life right now. Gonna swoop whatever I can get on all four corners as soon as I find it. Hopefully last till there's more inventory.

I also wanted a 305/35/18 and the only option I could find in stock anywhere was the NT01. I ended up going with a 315/30/18 Falken RT-615k+ and so far am happy. Much better in the rain than my old R888s were and seem pretty sticky still

Maybe take a look at these Nankang tires they’re what Spec Corvette is racing on. I have not tried them, but plan on it when I buy my street going c5z06.

Got an update today through one of the shops I've been talking to. The rears that I want should be available in a couple weeks. Here's hoping..

What size are you guys running in front with 315/30/18 in the rear? Guessing a 275/35r17 instead of the 275/40r17's you'd use with a 305/35 rear?

Those Nankangs don't look half bad.

Im down to wait for what I was originally looking for if they'll indeed be available in a couple weeks. But if a 315/30 and 275/35 work as well I'd definitely consider it. Pros? Cons?

Thanks btw guys.

You will never find 555r2's because they stopped making them almost 10 years ago

I've been running 315/30/18 Michelin in back for many years. Never changed the front size from the standard 245/45/17. No issues ever. But, that's on my car. As the fine print always says, "your results may vary"!

I cant find anything online that confirms this. They're still on their site and I'm seeing reviews from just last year. You mean the 555r's? Maybe they were replaced by the r2?

Not correct. The NT555R2's launched on April 1st 2020. I just bought them two months ago from JEGS.

Looks like they reused the name for a new tire. 555r2 was a road race tire first.

JEGS has them in the size you are looking for. They are just listed incorrectly on the site as:

Nitto NT5R2 305/35R18 105W XL

The product code is correct: nitto 108700

Good call! They reissued the product name. There was another gent on then forum that stated he's used them for road courses. When I asked where he got them I didn't get a response. Makes more sense now that the road course tire is retired.

Looks like the 555R2 is now just sold as a drag radial. The NT01 appears to be thir only road course tire available now. Per the Nitto site anyway.

Gonna order a few things from them right now. I'll throw two in the cart and see what happens!

I bought the rears from JEGS in 285/40/18 and they showed as two weeks backordered. Yet I recieved them in a week and a half. Hopefully you have the same, sinilar, or even better success.

Site says your size "ships directly from the manufacturer on 6/28". Good luck brother!
