Default Converter? Yank or precision industries?

What would you guys recommend for a street car. Drag strip a few times a year. Mainly street driven. I here vig converters are underrated compared to yank. So is a vig2800 like a yank ss3200, vig3200 like a yank ss3600? Difference between a vig single disc and triple disc? I’m going to be getting gears too, I already have a tranny cooler. Can’t decide on a 373 or 390. I run a street tire currently, 305 30 19 Bridgestone pole position tire.

maybe heads and cam in the future?
228/232?
232/240?

All thoughts and opinions are welcome?

I've had yank ss3200/3.42 for 11+ years it's a great combo and converter.

3200 Yank since '05. 60,000 miles, NO issues! I've heard good things about Precision. Probably both about equal. Neither is cheap. Get what you pay for.....

Thanks for the replies, would a 3200 work with a LG cam 228/232 or G5x2, 232/240, G5x3?
would a 3600 be better?

Are you still running the 5.7l? A LOT depends on how you use your car (be honest with yourself, here!!). I went with a 3200 for my LS1, then, before I even installed the Yank, I changed plans and decided to go with a 7.0l/427. I probably would've gone with a 2800-3000 stall with the bigger engine, due to the increased low end torque of the larger motor. Hopefully guys with 5.7l motors w/stall converters will chime in here. IMHO, I'd probably go with the 228-230, or a 232-236 with the 3,200 stall Yank. Just my .02...

I run a blower and Yank recommended a SS2800 for me.
Your best bet is to call Yank tech. They know their product
better than anyone on this Forum.
Good luck
