This is my first post in years... Advise welcome...
In October of 2019 Took the C5 out for a drive and lo and behold
Turning into the Driveway the Tranny Cable Broke... I coasted to the
Basement Garage where the C5 and C6 'live' .. C5 has been there ever
Since ... God time fly's
You name it, it's happened.
The Car is stored in a climate control Basement garage, and it's
a Dry area ..
I'm wondering , other than a Trans Cable.. What should
I expect to run into after a two year slumber...
2 years isnt enough to do any real damage. New battery or charge the battery would probably be the only thing you need to get it running. Fluid change as mentioned and top off with fresh fuel is a good idea.
As other have said fluids and battery. Your gas is OLD. You're gonna want to put some Techron in the tank for your next couple of fill ups. You might also want to evaluate your tires. If the car hasn't moved in 2 years, you may have some flat spots. Other than that, just get out and enjoy it. Welcome back!

Reason: corrected typos
I had my wife's C5 sitting for more than two years with the same gas in it, and the only problems were related to battery before I put it on a tender. I fired it up every now and then to keep the injectors from getting clogged, though. It sat off and on for over a decade, and I periodically topped it off during that time to keep the fuel somewhat fresh. I never put any stabilizer in it.
It had a complete front-to-rear fluid overhaul earlier this year and is now back on the road.

Always check for any signs of rodents that may have got into the car. Sitting for two years gives them ample time to set up nests. Hopefully your garage does not have that problem, but good to check nonetheless.
