When A wrap is used do they get into the small tight places like a real a paint job? It sounds like wall paper to me.
I think my C5, is a great generation. The fact of the matter is that the prices of our cars are going down. I have a 98 with only 20K miles and garage kept. I don’t put a lot of miles on it to keep the value up. I just like keeping it in good shape so that when I drive it, it’s like driving a new car again.
The low miles don't really make it worth that much more. I have 3 cars and it’s just a toy that I don’t need. So when I feel like driving it I do.
I would never spend a lot of money painting it. If it got to the point that it needed paint I would probably sell it and get a new C8.
If I wanted my car to be just like every other Corvette going down the road, I wouldn't have done half the things I've done to it. Let people enjoy things

Right? At least it doesn't look like it ran into the autozone stick on chrome aisle like every C5 you see at a cruise night.
Wrapping a car by a pro isn’t cheap, It’s not a DYI. Neither is paint, they both require skill to be done properly.
Texas-based Austin Extreme Graphics says car wraps can start as low as $2000 for a small two-door, such as a Fiat 500. A larger coupe, like a Chevy Camaro or a Ford Mustang, and smaller SUVS, trucks, and vans start at around $3500. Treatments such as a carbon-fiber-look vinyl add more, and expect to pay extra for chrome treatments, which start at about $6000 and go up from there. The most exotic wrap jobs can go as high as $10,000 or more, depending on the difficulty, the materials, and the size of the vehicle. Wrapping inside the doorjambs, for instance, can take an additional two days or more, which adds substantial time and, thus, cost.
I realize it’s just my opinion. I was only looking to see if others see it the way I do.
There are lots of things that were considered cool for a while and aren’t later on.
Maybe some people will remember;
"SLAM IT !!!!!!!!!!!!," meaning, lowering it so much it looks like it can't be driven.
"of course. 15 coats of ZAINO" or whatever is's called."
I have never seen a dull painted car of any type, except the guy across the street that
had it prepped for painting.
Ah the ol' "window tint makes you a drug dealer" trope.
In this neck of the woods, it pretty much does - or at least a suspect. There's no reason for a dark tint here, unlike Florida, the sun is not that bright. And of course it would be an inspection fail.
I like the hammered look with red dots in the center and red tires. So I beat the
entire thing and brush painted flex red paint.
I'll tell you this "she is a real head turner" Although, after they turn their heads they
I like satin black but don't know if I'd go with it on a C5 unless it already had crappy paint.
I had this '29 Model A Ford hot rod and the upper half wasn't bad but it had kind of a crappy paint job on the lower half so I spray bombed it. Thought it looked okay and was easy to maintain, just wipe it off when it got dirty and very easy to touch up bad spots by simply spraying over with more paint.
That's pretty sweet! My grammar school art teacher, Lance Sorchik, built his 34 Ford back in the 80's and painted the car suede black. His 34 "Jersey Suede" is one of the most popular and featured hot rods of the 80's and 90's in Hot Rod magazine and other publications.
I absolutely love the flat look on vintage vehicles. I decided to keep my barn find '29 Model A in its original patina and stock form. However, if I were to get another one and decide to molest it...it's going full suede.
Nor sure about my feelings on flat colors for the C5, but if I did go that direction it would get wrapped, not painted flat..
