Default Grounding point for amp

I have seen a few people say that one of the bolts the bolt the seats down can be used for grounding an amplifier. Can anyone comfirm or deny this? It isnt listed as a grounding point on any of the diagrams ive found.

Yes, I have grounded my two amps at one of the rear seat bolts on the passenger side. Works just fine.

That's a good thing. I try to always ground my amps on something that isn't used as another ground.

Do either of the rear bolts work? Or is it only one side that has a good ground?

You want two things: 1. The shorter the ground wire the better (especially for high wattage). The further it is away from another ground the less likely you'll have "crosstalk".

There is actually an official/listed ground bolt right near the seatbelt bolt on the passenger side. There is already some stuff grounded to it. Worked great for me.

Yes, i was thinking about mounting both amps (one for sub and one for mids/highs) behind the passenger seat. So was hoping to be able to ground right there at the seat bolt.

Careful with that location. Be sure you put a board or something to mount the amp to and don't screw directly into the wall there. You'll puncture your fuel tank(s) and have a bad time.

I ground my amps at both of the rear seat bolts, no problems.
