Many years ago, one of my automobile engineering cohort went on to own a (small at the time) Lotus dealership in England. I got to drive both original Elans and Elites. The sheer precision of the steering and feedback were a dream, the kind you only get when no power assistance is involved. Never been bettered since, I suspect, though the Elise is in the same bracket.

You're right. I relied on Wikipedia - silly me. Still, that makes my bigger, heavier comment even "worse".

The pictures above say it all. I'm sure the C8s are super cool cars, but I've felt all along they seem big for a two seater sports car. Especially compared to a two seater sports car that's 20 some years old of the same name. Size matters.

It's 3 inches longer than a C5. Hardly a monumental difference.

It's really more wide than anything. They are both pretty close in my garage. It's not like it's a hellcat. The proportions are just way different. Also the C5 being the last of the bottom breathers has a much lower nose. Then again a C8 doesn't have the over heating problems. Everything is a trade off. I hope every one gets to drive a C8 at some point to see what a good job GM did when you consider what we get for the price.

I suppose you have a point about C5s overheating, but mine never has, even with an LS7 when I had the stock radiator. I know what you're saying, though. But I also keep the my eye on the crap that can foul up the radiator. I personally like the fact GM got away from 'bottom feeders'.......

Length is negligible if you can fit a C5 you can fit a C8 length wise. Width is more noticable.
