Hi guys, I would like some advise on spark plugs and wires.
My 98 has 20K miles. I always use 93 octane gas with stabil in the winter, it has never even been driven in the rain.
It’s basically like new. Not the slightest amount of rust at all, anyplace.
Under those conditions do I need new spark plugs just because of the age? Thank you, Steve
I'd be much more worried about fluids, belts, and tires. These cars are made to be driven, and they can develop issues if they sit too much. I suspect the plugs are fine, but you may need a new battery.
You can pretty easily pull one and take a look. Spark plugs can be a bit funny at times, they can last 1000 years, or the little things can come apart. Can't hurt to check. However, as the above poster said: hoses, belts, fluids.are the things to check first.

Everything EXCEPT for the plugs have been maintained exactly as if the car has been driven
at average mileage. Even while being stored and covered during the months while not driven. Stabil,
New Mobil1 every spring even when it is still clear, brake fluid because it wasn’t perfectly clear.
Battery when it had nothing wrong with it, based upon age, absolutely everything I can think of.
When I was a kid I had a 69 Charger 426 hemi. That was so easy to get at all of the plugs. They came straight
out of the head on top. I think all cars should have a hemi. Although In the case of the C5,the front would be
too high to sit so far back
This= with 2 holly 4 bbl carbs
No exhauset pipes.
Just headers and 2 small mufflers/that was it, pretty LOUD
A lot for a 17 year old kid to control, but not impossible. Just mash the pedal to the floor/ hold on tight and keep it in a straight line.
It had some mods that I can't remember. It wasn't a manual trans or automatic, hard to explain.
This has been a walk down memory lane.

Pull a plug or two and see what they look like - most likely they will be just fine. If anything, the wires may need to be replaced as they do degrade over time.
