Do performance gaskets really increase hp?...The one I'm currently looking at specifically is the 80MM LS1 Power Plus by BBK - https://www.bbkperformance.com/chevy...ody-97-04.html - And how many gaskets would I need (04 C5): Never heard or performance enchanting gaskets so I'm just looking for someone that knows about them a lot more than me.
The gaskets are not the important thing here. It is the throttle body. I also agree that the gains you would see from this alone are not worth the money. I see that you are new, and have been asking a lot of questions about power adding mods. You might want to put up a post stating what your goals are, and ask advice on how to get there. There are several of us who can help guide you in the right direction. Cheap cold air intakes, and 80MM throttle bodies are not the way to go if you're looking for power. I won't go into anymore here. However, I'm happy to give you several suggestions if you create a separate post as I've suggested.
The only "performance" gasket I've ever heard of is a thinner head gaskets that slightly increase compression. BBK and Granitelli are just two brands that're a waste of money; performance wise.
Horsepower is not cheap.
There are no magic cheap parts that will
give you hp.
X2
In my experience HP is ~$100 per horse. Most of my experience in performance upgrades were prior to this year’s inflation and parts shortages though. I would imagine it has nearly, if not doubled that nowadays.
