i think i see what you're saying... i've just never seen a 300 speedometer without the °C, kPa, and fill level circles in place of the F/E. i thought that meant you'd swapped in the stepper motor & face for only the speedometer onto a US cluster.
but then again, i'd also seen somewhere that the default unit setting (US vs metric) is hard-coded, so an export cluster always starts in metric... which might mean you simply got the US overlays for the side gauges to go onto an export cluster.
No I didn't have to do anything other than convert it to default in Metric, its as I brought it years ago
If I'm correct in my understanding, the rule is anything that is 25 years old (or older) doesn't have to be changed. If so, you could have just waited until 2022 and bought a 1997. Problem solved right?

Your correct regarding the ruling but, I brought the 99 in 2003 because thats what I wanted to update to, if I waited for till 2022 I would not buy a C5, at the time I could afford one, I'm retired and couldn't afford one now, the last thing I would want is a LHD car as it creates a lot of issues driving here, I don't consider C5's collectible maybe one day they will. I started out with a 73 then a 92 Z07 and the C5 at one point I had all 3 at home, I decided the 99 was going to be the keeper of the 3, tho sometimes I wish I still had the 92 as the 6 speed shift was so much better than the C5.
If I could afford another change it would be to a C7.

Oh okay. I thought you purchased it recently and then did the conversion.
Not sure how LHD creates any issue driving there. Plenty of people drive LHD cars there and RHD cars here, the car still drives the same.

Have you done the anti-venom mod. It helps the shifting alot in some cars. It did in mine.

it's about sight lines, for one. they're not optimal when driving on the opposite side of the car & therefore create additional blind spots.
another thing i remember seeing years ago was that Australia (at least used to) had a law where you had to put certain-sized decals across the vehicle alerting other drivers that it's LHD... which just looks stupid.

Yep did the anti venom mod years ago and it did improve it, it no longer pops out of 1st and reverse but even the 1st version of MGW short throw is hard to shift so I'm hoping the new version is better, otherwise I may go back to stock.

just depends on how mad that the residents were when they kicked the Brits out
shoot - in the Bahamas, they run left-hand drive cars on the left side of the road. same visibility problems as the folks who have RHD cars here.
I don't think Sweden ever had Brits, although they had Vikings - maybe that counts....anyway, Sweden used to drive on the left, until they changed it. One day - in the 50s, I think - they ordained that people would now drive on the right, and it's been that way ever since. It was apparently quite interesting there for a few days or weeks after the change.
