Meguiar’s D120 Glass Cleaner and a waffle weave towel. Be sure to wash these towels with microfiber cleaner ONLY with no fabric softeners…very important.
After struggling with the same issue for years, I finally came up with a system that works. I use Stoner’s Invisible Glass cleaner and two MF towels that are different colors (gray & red).
First, less is more when it comes to the glass cleaner. I spray a light mist on the windshield & windows and then clean them with the Gray MF towel. When done, I then re-wipe the windshield and windows with the dry Red MF towel which picks up any remaining residue and removes any streaks.
I also suggest that one does not use any protectant on the dash. Most protectants bleed chemicals and cause the windshield to get oily. The other suggestions for general cleaning are excellent.
I have always used the glass rags that southernparts sells, pretty sure they are a vendor. Those rags are amazing. add water, wring it out and clean the glass
Zero streaks or film

I use Adam's Polishes Glass Cleaner - have found it does not leave streaks. You may want to post your question in the Car Care section where members there can give you plenty of advice.
I found that no matter what cleaner I use, it’s the waffle weave towels that do the trick. So I have to 2nd that statement. Use 1 for cleaning the 1 for final pass.
A little Mother's Chrome polish lightly buffs the glass, removing those leftover streaks and polishes off that hard to remove road shellac from the glass surface.. Doesn't need it but, rinse with water or damp cloth if that floats your boot!... You are welcome Bunkey. 😎
Use newsprint/newspaper to clean the windows for no streaks. Personally, I prefer the foamy aerosol window cleaners, but just about any cleaner works well if you use the right stuff to wipe it off, and the right stuff is newspaper/newsprint.
My method: (I never use window cleaner) Wash car, then pat-dry with thick microfiber towel(both sides), followed by waffle towel. I use those windshield glass wands w/microfiber for inside. And wash your car towels w/baking soda and vinegar. Clean towels are key!!
The fastest and easiest way I've found is using a solution of water in a spray bottle with one drop of Dawn in it. Spray the glass, use a sponge to scrub the glass, use a squeegee to nearly dry the glass, follow it up with a perfectly clean cotton towel around the edges. Takes less than 5 minutes and your glass is streak free.
When my daughters visit I clean their windshields without telling them. They've called on the way home asking, "What did you do!? I can see really well!" It makes a difference in the motoring experience for sure.

Sprayway glass cleaner with a Mr Clean Magic Eraser. (Optional use a clay bar before the Mr Clean step)
Waffle weave cloth buff to dry
There's also a gadget I got from Walmart which has a triangle pad thingy on the end which allows you to get all the way in the corners of the inside of the windshield.
