Just got this in from APSIS...am I crazy or is this light shale way off?

Does this match?

Looks like a hint of green

I'm fairly colorblind and I agree, it's off a bit in the green direction...I usually wouldn't be THAT picky, but I know you paid a premium for that...

yea definitely green tint as we put it in the sun and it's very obvious. So yea I'm pretty pissed but I'll give them a chance to reply.

Now I'm being told my 16K mile interior has somehow faded causing the color difference. I'm assuming that means all the green faded from my Shale interior...wtf???

Good luck - hope you can get this worked out to your satisfaction. Color does look a bit off to me.

First, it is impossible to judge a tint on an image from digital means, computer, tablet, only under daylight. You are the best judge of the color.
Second, yes, your seats 20years old...and even if the car did not sit in the sun for ever, the color may have changed a little.
I also suspect it is almost impossible to have a 100% match color if the leather is not exactly from the same origine, same batch of treatment and paint.
it does not seem so bad to me on my ipad. That's my 2 cents. Besides, you are the only one to be able to decide if you'll keep it or not.
good luck!

A 20 year old car is a 20 year old car. The GM 90's *** pleather isn't on the tires or care how many miles are on the car. Not to mention the apsis stuff is real leather and the GM stuff is the same as girls pants made for clubbing.

That being said just from the picture they look close enough where no one is going to notice. I think it looks great personally and if anything I would ditch the stock seat covers for better leather.

I appreciate everyone's inputs. So basically most of you are saying the original BS Shale leather had a greenish tint when it was new but after 20yrs the green tint has faded? I've seen a lot of Shale interiors and not once did I notice a hint of green but ok...again, I appreciate everyone's input and I guess I'll stop being **** now.

Since day one we have the same matching light shale nappa leather. We sent the leather sample to our Italian supplier and they specifically matched the color for us. Even since, we have made so many C5 parts for our customers and never ever have any customer complaining the “greenish” issue to us so I don’t even know there is such “greenish” issue existing.

For so many years if all the customers can accept the color then it should be close match enough.

I advise the customer that there is also a possibility that the factory leather may change the color a little bit through 20 years aging. There is no insulting meaning at all.

Since this customer says he will change the seat skin so I say we can make the new seat skin for him using same nappa leather then the color issue is solved.

We do stand behind our products. If the color matching issue is more important for him, then we can find the US made leather for new production. But then it’s not nappa leather and quality is big difference.

So I am waiting for his decision first and we will know how to move forward next step.

Yep, you've been stand up...the green tint caught me off guard. The Forum educated me a little. I'm looking forward to getting the rest of my parts. thank you. I apologize for being an A$$
