And not relevant. You're not driving a nail when you're shifting. If you're claiming a relevant relationship in the equation write it out and explain it.

Then don't bring up physics. They are rarely simple.

Your feelings are a valuable contribution. If you can back up feelings with good data that's even more valuable.

Interesting deflection! I look forward to you providing the equation showing the force applied by the driver is insignificant compared to a heavier ****.
Shame on me...I initially gave the the guy with one month tenure on this forum the benefit of the doubt of not being a reject troll. My better judgement knew you were a small man based on your first post. I bet you can't even do 10 consecutive pushups, can you?

You yourself can try to deflect and debate all you want by focusing on an equation. You either have the first hand experience or you don't. You come into this thread with absolutely nothing to offer but your disposition pertaining to something you yourself have never tested.

Now answer my question...do you have experience with testing heavier weight shift ***** with a short throw shifter on an MN6 C5?

Seeing that you have a renob for having things written out in front of you vs testing things yourself... please proceed to the testing ground and publish your findings in a wriiten essay to explain the science behind it to prove me wrong.

Then let's take a poll in the General Topics section to see how many forum members appreciate guys like you.

So you offer your feelings that it's 'better' and no data to back it up. Works for me. Thanks for sharing your opinion. Leave the physics to the engineers.

Yeah, I am in the garage building shifters and shift *****. What is it with all you keyboard warriors that keep using the word "feelings" in place of experience? It's like the flacid mans go-to when he's hiding behind a monitor 1000 miles away.

I read Honda's take on it, but their engineers aren't very good. So I'm leaving the physics to you Mr. engineer. Seeing that you are so invested in the topic and not just being a poser or a punk trolling for things you can latch onto.

We look forward to your educational write up. Here is your opportunity to contribute some value vs. just being a sucubis and a time waster.

I love waking up to chaos lol.
So got these weighed. Obviously some of the aftermarket shift ***** list weights, but I don't have a C5 **** to compare unfortunately.
stock 03-05 forester ****

Almost stock C6 ****(set screw hole cut off)

By feel alone, I'm surprised it wasn't double the weight honestly. For reference, most cue ball shift ***** appear to be 170-190oz based off what I'm seeing online. As far as dimensions go the inner diameter of the insert(keeping in mind there is a shim molded in half way up)

And the outer dimension

Or 39/64" and 53/64" if someone was looking to tap and add an outer/inner threaded insert to use directly on the 9/16" C5 shift handle. I will say, whatever glue is used to keep the insert in the shift **** if you wanted to swap it, it is IN THERE. Couldn't budge it with a pair of pliers.

Ha! You didn't miss anything valuable. Thank you for confirming the weight of the C6 ****. I read online it was about 130 grams. Which is close to where you landed. The stock Forester **** being heavier makes sense. The C6 **** weighs the same as a cheap **** from AutoZone. Apparently the C6 **** has a weight inside it. Must be minuscule.

It's possible an insert/adapter may still work well, even with the shim inside. I'm going to play around with it myself to see if it will work. The "modified for C5 ****" never really got that tight. You can easily over tighten as it's just self tapping the shift lever threads into plastic.

I ordered a $15 gram scale from Amazon. Due for delivery tomorrow. I have a few ***** laying around. I'll get a weight on a cue ball **** and revert back. I have one from Twisted Shifterz on hand.

Here are my findings as far as weight on both the C6 **** and cue ball. The modified C6 for C5 **** (carbon fiber pattern cap) that I bought many years ago (2006 to 2008 timeframe) weighed in at 137.6 grams. The Twisted Shifterz cue ball weighs 112.4 grams.
