This 12" XCON was surprisingly rated to be used in a sealed box and sounds great teamed up with a 1.1CF polyfill Subthump box.
Back when I was looking, any other subs I could find all had too deep of a mounting depth to fit in a center cargo box or required a ported box...so this sub checked all the marks
I ran a Skar VD10 in that same box. Sounded pretty good, but I missed the cubby for storage. Eventually moved to a setup where the amps are now in the cubby and completely hidden and the sub box has enough room to store the targa roof.
Great info here, I too want more base. I have my settings more for front speaker usage, hearing To eliminate rears makes sense.
Thank you, oh a sound clip with be nice 🎶
OK, now I like the sound from my Vette!!!!! Angels singing AHHHHHHHH!. The Harmony 12 inch sub with the Timpano TMS-500 amp and the PAC OEM VET1 are super. Added the kickers to the rear channel. with adjustments to bass, treble, and fade I now hear them as a fill from the back. Still not happy with the sound brightness, I added infinity Reference REF-3032CFX 3.5" full-range 2-way speakers in place of the OEM cones in the doors. A little more fidgeting with the Bass, Trebble, and Fade, and the sound is out of sight. It is now crisp, clear, and bright in the high and mid-ranges, and the bass is just right from the Sub. I actually hear the rears as well as good fill from the rear. I am still using the stock head unit and the bose woofers and electronics in the front. Amazingly bright and crisp sound all the way around. The Infinities were a super find, especially at $50 for the pair on amazon. Everywhere else they were about $100. Really good. I tried them to see and if I was not happy I would have moved to the next level Infinities, but alas, not needed. Thanks, everyone for your help.

Sounds like i wanted.
Then i noticed very muted sound out of the stock rear 6.75 inch speakers. So decided to replace them as those present were original to my 2004 coupe. Kicker 4 ohms. No sound, i think, when fade to rear on the oem head unit.
I'll have to give it a listen again to be sure. Purchaed wiring adapter to connect new speakers without splicing. Easy. Is it common for c5 to have muddy sound on rear channels? It was that prior to my new setup and now seems like nothing. Any thoughts or advice appreciated.
