Caravaggio Seats
After owning a couple C7 Z06s, I now have a 2003 Z06 and love it. The seats on the car I bought are trash though. Want to order the Caravaggio seat set. 3295 is a bit pricey, but his work is top notch. Anyone order? Does he supply the seats and all new switches and stuff or do I need to send my seats as a core?

Did you enjoy the c7 seats in your c7?
Reason being is that c7 seats in a C5 is now a thing

There are several offerings called caravaggio seats. Do you mean the ones where the stock seats are re-skinned, or the sport seats? I have a set of sport seats and they are excellent (bought used.) The prices are steep; IMO too steep for the re-skinned ones by far. I understand it's not cheap to do good upholstery, I am not commenting on whether the price is commensurate with the cost, but I just wouldn't pay that much money to re-skin the pretty mediocre C5 seats regardless. The sport seats though I like a ton. Obviously you give up on a bit of comfort and they don't recline, but they look fantastic and have good bolstering.

Unfortunately due to the necessary narrow design, there isn’t much out there worth using if you want to retain a reclining feature.
Personally a set of the the c7 ‘sport’ seats may be your best bet.

I have Caravaggio's rear spoiler on my C5 and I have his custom steering wheel in my C7Z. As a repeat customer, I was surprised last year when he didn't return my emails or voicemails pertaining to his custom C5 sport seats. Apparently, he improves the bolsters and other guts of the seats before applying the new leather skins. I don't know for sure because he never replied so I think he is more focused on the C8 and C7 generations.
Anyway, I picked up a set of C7 GT seats from a wrecked Z06. The leather wasn't a good match so I'm debating as to whether or not I want to move forward with the modification as I will need new leather skins and will need to work around the fit as you can't move the seat back all the way due to the C5 floor mount seat belt harness. I'm 6'2" so I'm sure I will need to make some kind of adjustment. I'm not crazy about the idea of having to add C6 seat belts as I don't want to mess with the passive restraint system, so I may see if I can trim the side moldings of the C7 seats after removing the C7 seat belt tensioners. I saw an earlier post where someone trimmed the back section of the side moldings from where the seat belt tensioners pulled through in order to allow full seat movement in the C5.
I agree the C7 seats are way better than the C5 seats and provide an OEM look vs. the many aftermarket options that look more like child seats IMO. They drop right in from a mounting perspective, however you will need to wire up the power and the telescoping steering wheel if your C5 is equipped with one. I plan to test fit my set of C7 seats in the upcoming weeks to see what additional mods are required to make it work.

I am interested if you ever got a hold of Caravaggio regarding their C5 seats. I have a 2004 C5 vert and I'm planning to swap out my seats. They look great with the Vette Essential leather, however after taking delivery of my C7 Z06 with Competition Seats, when driving my C5 it now feels like I'm sitting on soft couch pillows by comparison.

Thats my concern, I'm 6'3". Want to make sure the seat is going to fit and be allowed to move. He emailed me back yesterday and told me to call. I told him I did call him and left a message and no answer. So waiting for a response and ill try and call today.

I have never been able to get a useful response from Caravaggio. Considering the cost of their product, this seems like pretty poor customer service. I ended up not ordering from them, but scrounging around for used take-offs instead, because at least the person selling me their used kit could explain the questions I had before dropping $$$$ on them.

While I am no expert I can chime in with my perspective. I am an original C5 Z06 owner and have had a total of 6 different drivers seats in my car over the 14 years of ownership. There are trade offs. Currently I have C7 Comp Seats in the car. I love how I fit in the seats, but I can not stand the driving position. The seat bottoms are MUCH thicker than the OEMs, and this creates a much higher sitting position. I am 5'11" and I can not fit my fingers between my head and the headliner! If I move my head to the left, I hit the A Pillar, certainly not safe for street driving. I can not get a helmet on with these seats installed.
So they are most likely going up for sale this January.
I just bought a set of the Corbeau Evo X seats after test driving another C5Z with tases seats installed. Its a much lower driving position and I have a few inches of head room and room for a helmet.
