Fixed position LED (no halo) with a high grade light pattern that’s height adjustable would be the best light out there like using a combination of units, High & high/low below

Here lies my problem.... GM did such a poor job designing the lighting and road functions of driving at night, one should NOT drive at night!..... Especially if one is over 60.... A reader of this forum I have no confidence in what's available to fix their screw up!

Being retired from that daily chore of driving to work, I do not drive the Vette at night. I installed brighter bulbs and also can have the brights and lows can be on at the same time just in case I have to drive at night.

I have the ACA headlights from Sharp Light Innovations, and I have replaced every exterior light on the car. The headlights on the Vette (the ACAs not the stock headlights) are actually better than any other car I've ever driven. I'm actually not unhappy with my current lighting. It's about as good as anything currently available in the US. However, from what I've heard adaptive headlights are so much better than anything in the US. As such, I was hoping that the tech might trickle down to the C5.

I certainly agree with you, believe me.

With what I'm doing ahead, I'm always looking at compromises. Compromises of cost, ability for me to manufacture a maximum amount of the kit in-house, in the US, employing local people, as well as have a quality beam output that is legal (cutoff lines, etc). Making all those factors line up, is the difficulty. My personally, I've been on this forum since 2009 (started in C4 with a different name) and at the core, I just can't spend 1k dollars on headlights....me personally, so I doubt I'll ever convince myself to sell a kit that costs that much. I try to find the needle in a haystack and supporting Morimoto's climb and dominance over flooding Corvette with chinese designed/manufactured products is just not something I'll support. I can't avoid importing an LED from overseas, but I won't fund Morimoto itself, I'll seek the background manufacturer. I will look into those, but at 3.54" and individually adjustable, I'm not sure how I feel about it. I have some high output, glass lens optic stuff in prototyping that is much more affordable and compact. I will look into it though, because of course I want the best offering possible.

If you follow anything I've built, I like modularity. Making some compatible with those style lights AND also have a cheaper option of lighting is attractive to me...much like a base stingray, a Z06 and a ZR1...some people will pay for more, but I like leading out with the Stingray. I've just started establishing this brand, and I will say that ahead...I will disrupt a lot of established price gouging, chinese manufacturers and china product peddlers in any way I can...it's my core objective. I like to design the product myself and manufacture it myself, if I can. If I can't I am actively establishing US based partners with CNC's, laser machines, ability to produce pcb boards, do programming, to provide me product and everyone is small business, US based folks in Reno, northern Idaho and California.

Touche’
What you are doing is inspiring. The attention to detail and will to compromise for homegrown products and productions is grounding.

I understand price concerns and agree about making the most from a modest price point considering the C5 Corvette overall and your personal direction
Looking forward to seeing possibly the best and most relatable product yet
Good Luck

Many years ago, also frustrated with the weak beams from OEM lights, I did the "9005" conversion with some SilverStar bulbs. Very easy, very quick, quite inexpensive, no permanent alteration and tond ns of additional light much more comparable to modern LED's of today.

Do a search and find how easy this is to do.

I'm in!... If I am still alive... Two thousand dollars is a good price to be safe, stay alive while driving this Chevy corvette and not hurt another person. You'd be a hero to many. The hampered old design group at C5 Corvette would have been happy with the asked for funds.

Totally. Give me the option of no power windows, no power locks, no power seats, no A/C, no active handling, no ABS, and no power steering, [/QUOTE]

Sounds like a '69 C3 is in your future!! I agree, though. Personally, I think there's WAY too many nannies and electronics in the cars as it is. If the adaptive headlights you guys are talking about are the self dimming headlights seen on newer cars, you can easily override them if you're the type of driver who enjoys blinding oncoming traffic. If not, would someone please explain what adaptive headlights are, and Yank me outta the rock I've been living under??!!
