Long time lurker, and I've recently become an owner of a C5. When I removed the engine cover to inspect the coil packs, I noticed a pipe had been cut in the engine bay towards the rear of the engine, and this pipe seems to run from the passenger side of the engine, behind the intake manifold, and to the firewall on the driver's side of the engine bay. I'm attaching a photo with the cut pipe circled, can anybody help me figure out what this pipe is and what it does?
Ahhh I believe you are correct. It looks like the pipes would mount at or around the headers which now makes sense since I have long tubes and those mounting locations are t available anymore. Doesn't hurt the engine leaving the pipes there from what I recall?

If you ever remove the intake manifold you can remove it or just leave it as is. I would reconnect the hose coming off the valve cover that is right next to it

Reconnect this line? That is for crankcase pressure I believe?
As others have said, it won't hurt anything to leave it as is. However, You can clean things up a bit, and take about 10 pounds of weight out of the car if you actually remove the entire AIR system(since you aren't using it anyway).
