Anyone using Carvaggio seats in their C5. They look really good, but at $3295.00, I want to make sure they are comfortable.
any input I’d appreciated.
I reached out to Caravaggio last year inquiring about a set of C5 seats and never got a response (multiple email and voicemail messages). They look great and he apparently also beefs up the interior guts, frame support, and foam as part of the offering. If you go in that direction, let us know if you get a response and the timeline. Note to expect double the production time he quotes as I purchased both a C5 rear spoiler and a C7Z custom leather steering wheel and both times, his production time was double what he quoted. Great quality takes time though.
Do you have to send them your seats, or do you get new seats altogether?
I spoke to John Carvaggio today. If you want the upgraded C5 seats($3200), then you have to send him your seats. He will give you his code to his shipper, so you get his discount, but I will be looking at $300 each way(from MS). So I’ll be nearly $4,000 into seats. Tough decision, I only paid $12,000 for the car, but….I already have over $25,000 in it, so I guess in the grand scheme of things, another $4,000 ain’t going to kill me…..
Oh, you are talking about re-skinning stock seats, not the fiberglass one-piece sport seats? I have the latter, I may have mislead you when I mentioned in another thread that I have caravaggio seats.
Anyways I cannot recommend $4000 seats in a C5, honestly. The stock seats also are just not ... really good for anything other than being plushy. Your call.

Did he elaborate on what he does to the seats in addition to new skins and foam?

Small world, I'm also from Mississippi, let me know if you decide to get them.

Sounds like your mind is made up. While I have never seen Carvaggio seats in person, they look fantastic and there is no question they are superior quality. If you are willing to wait for an opportunity, every now and then on the famous auction site, someone puts up a set of C7 seats that are decent for less than $2000. The problem I have seen is usually salvage yards post them and they are grossly over-priced with the majority of them having deep scratches, gouges, and/or stains. I find the private sellers on Ebay tend to offer the best seats at better asking prices.
For a data point, I have C7 seats and I can tell you they are light years in comfort above the stock C5 seats.

Have not made my mind up yet, still debating. I know I need to do something, my stock seats are like sitting on bricks!
just seeing this post. I clicked the link, those are $3799.00, and then you have to convert to C6 seat belts! Also lose all electric and memory functions.

$3295 for the Caravaggio seats...You don't need to send your stock seats in for that design, it's a totally new seat.
Not according to the OP who spoke with Caravaggio. You need to send in your existing (core) seats, which depending on where you live, adds additional S&H costs to Toronto area.

I'm not going to argue with you over a conversation the OP had....All I can relay to you is that for the past several years before they moved to Canada, I spoke with Caravaggio about the seats and told them I already had modified seats, I was looking for a whole new design concept, and he assured me that was what I would be getting, without sending in my seats. Maybe things have changed, or different designs being offered using the stock seats. Just my .02
