Framming should be done this week... planning on running 200 amp service, get my bendpack rep out here for two lifts.. I am debating whether I need shop air, I had huge compressor in my other garage, barely used it. Air tools are nice, but it takes up a decent amount of real estate, and battery operated tools are just as good these days.
Looking good and with the 14' ceiling a 4 post lift will be perfect. One can never have too much garage space. Every time I go out to my detached garage, I kick myself for not making it a four stall instead of the three stall that I designed.

yeah, I gave up a 4 bay garage when I sold the ny house, I would have gone wider but this is basically as big as I can go with the setbacks, without tearing the place down.
I justdid pick up a place in north carolina though, on a lake with room for 8 cars without a lift, so I'll have plenty of room to play down there :-)

I just picked up an M18 High Output 12.0 battery pack yesterday. Now I can run the cutoff without stop. Yes, battery tools knock the wind out of having air tanks, lines and all the racket. My Fuel impact hammer never leaves my side now. Until I bought that I did everything by hand. Sure, my hands were really strong because of it but why go through an extra hour spinning small screws off part of the car when you can zip them quickly and safely? Two big thumbs up.
Seems like you can never have enough garage space. That addition will really be nice - best of luck finishing up the garage.
Very, very true. I sort of shot myself in the foot, when I built my house, and went with the architect's "base" 24'x24' garage. At the time, my mother was still alive and well, and I had a 2 car garage at her house, that I could use, not realizing how the future would play out......

Call me paranoid, but large windows can be an invitation to "uninvited guests", especially when you have some nice toys in there. It's a compromise. Keep in mind, "florescent windows" also work well, especially after dark.

I may just run the compressor anyway, for the lifts I'm installing and for a plasma cutter. I would still end up using battery operated tools.
Wow I'm impressed with all of the amazing garages. The view out the back is going to be awesome. Are you sure you aren't going to build a loft on the second floor? 😀

second floor will be for storage / etc. 8 foot cathedral ceiling on the second floor, and lots of windows. :-)
