Recently moved out of our New York place, into our summer shore house. The dinky garage wasn't doing it, after a few years of working on permits (for the garage and another addition on the back side of the house), finally got everything approved and framing has begun.
I may have gone a little excessive on the ceiling height though :-). would have made it wider, had to work within zoning setbacks. Last pic is view from the back of the garage.
After retirement I down sized and lost my 5 car garage. Now suffering with two waterfront homes, one in New England and one in Florida and only room for two cars. I spend more time boating than I do in my vert.
Up until 2018 I had a 5 car garage. Then I rented a warehouse too and filled it. Yeah, I went a little nuts. I was collecting cars like Hot Wheels. I had come to a point in my life where I could keep them all! The maintenance was $$$ and the rent and everything else. But, I got to drive a different car nearly every week.
Sold everything and moved to Florida. Hated it. Moved back to a rural Indiana location with a three car. I am down to my one C5 and happy. Isn't that what counts anyway?
Nice friggin garage! We treat our rides better than most people get treated in the world. Amazing to think about. They're housed, heated, washed, dry, comfortable.

Thanks.
My retirement place is in north carolina, posted a few pics of that ... 8 car shop with an apartment on top, on lake norman, house to be built... always a compromise living in the NE.
Nice upgrade to the homestead. I'm planning the same thing but it will have a new house with it in a new location as well. Should be a great place to go mancave to.
Looks like a nice garage. I'm fully retired one year ago today but have been blessed with this 30x30 garage under a full apartment at our lake house (70 miles from the burbs where our main house and grandsons live) going on 8 years now. If it were any bigger I'd put more cars/toys in it.
Thanks !
Framming should be done this week... planning on running 200 amp service, get my bendpack rep out here for two lifts.. I am debating whether I need shop air, I had huge compressor in my other garage, barely used it. Air tools are nice, but it takes up a decent amount of real estate, and battery operated tools are just as good these days.
