Default No flames please...

Can someone please tell me what OEM/ET(drag racing)/Trap speed mean? I'm guessing ET is the Estimated Time it took for the car to reach the end of the 1/4 mile mark, and Trap Speed to mean the speed at which the car was going when it did cross the line. If someone could just point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. :confused:

ET = Elapsed Time
Trap Speed = Speed going through the trap at end of track.

Trap Speed is the average speed your vehicle is traveling over the last 60 feet of the 1/4 mile.......

OEM stands for "Original Equipment Manufacturer" as the gentleman above me posted. It generally refers to a "stock" part, made by the factory. The opposite of that would be aftermarket . . . something made by a different manufacturer for the car. For example, OEM wheels are stock wheels, while Fikses are aftermarket wheels.

E.T. stands for Elapsed Time and refers to the total time it took the car to travel from a stop to the end of 1/4 mile of distance. How well the car launches is very important to this.

Trap Speed is the speed at which your car finishes the 1/4 mile run at. This is a good indication of horsepower to weight ratio . . . this can be "relatively" unaffected by how well the car is launched. For example, if a car runs a 12.5 at 135 . . . it means he finished the quarter mile in 12.5 seconds at 135 mph . . . and is a good indication that this car is having a lot of trouble getting traction or launching.

I hope this was helpful! :cheers:
