Default Snow

Winter in the Alps 2004. The car handled really good in snow. I drove it all year round as it was the only car I had. The car is still in Germany.

Really the main issue with driving a Corvette in the snow (other than getting it dirty ) is ground clearance. If there are more than a few inches of snow on the road, the snow will be above the level of the front bumper. It takes even less for the snow to be above the front air dam. In your picture above, it looks like the roads are actually pretty much clear. The other potential issue is the tires. Although it is certainly possible to run tires that can handle the snow with no problem.

At that time I had tires that handled all weather. I didn't drive the car when the snow was bad, as I grew up in the north and understood the danger of deep snow.

Winter tires would be a must. I had all seasons on my prior 99 and they were OK with a little bit of snow on the ground.

My original tires on my 2000 were rated DSW, ran an autocross with several inches of snow and ended up FTD almost every event.

Though I've never driven my C5 in snow, I would assume it would be pretty good, with the near 50/50 weight distribution. Camaro's I've owned... mehh

They do handle great in snow. The tires were considered the best for any driving condition. Jim

I drove my '99 and '00 C5s on the stock runflats in snow here - lots of hills to navigate. I never got stuck, but did have traction issues at times on the hills. If I had A/S tires on the car at the time it probably would have been a less strenuous drive in the car.

it works pretty well, with winter tires. Lately I saw a C6 with winter tires and studs
in the snow driving conditions, the most critical is the others... the car itself handles it pretty well... just know what to do with the pedals.
