There's a youtube video where a guy shows how to set one up and raises his c5. It's some version of the 5000. I just set my 7000tlx up earlier today. You may have to purchase that other thing that slides along the rails to adjust the lift points. It's not cheap. I think its around $370.00.
I just found a youtube from QuickJack that says you can position the jacks perpendicular to the car, instead of parallel like most people. That will work.
I purchased the Quick Jack 5000TL and was also pissed that the rubber bumpers wouldn't line up with the pucks. Was told to remove the pucks and use the large rubber block long ways without touching the rockers. Still not happy but it works. Just have to be careful.
I had no issues lifting my 2001 with the pucks that clip on underneath along the rails. My QuickJack 5000 came with the big rubber blocks. Put pucks in, put rubber blocks in the tray of the lift under the pucks.... lifted up just fine for me at those points like @whbrennan posted above.
