Really interested to hear from anyone using Koni special active Red shocks.
I’ve used Sports (yellows) and they were more controlled than a Bilstein
What I like about the Koni Reds are they’re adaptive style. Similar to the oem but no wiring

Bah...recommended for factory ride height only. First thing people do is lower the 4X4 stock ride height lol.

Harry, re the Koni yellows, how were they set? When I had my old Fox Mustang, the recommendation was full soft for the road when new, and turned up for competition or to compensate for wear. On that car, they definitely did a good job.

I had them set at just below 3/4 or about 70%. At that rate it was best for low speed cornering. High (50 & up ) speeds were better if you turned it up a little. The overall ride was slightly better than a Bilstein and less jarring from potholes or pavement seams while it wasn't floaty at all. My biggest complaint was both shocks trying to overcome the reactions of the composite leaf; like jumping from a diving board. Fighting the instantaneous reverse rebound energy of the leaf springs is tough for any shock to overcome

That's what happens when the damping rates and spring rates are not well matched. It can happen with any kind of spring - as Mercedes are finding out with their new F1 car, with it's "porpoising" problems.
