Contemplating one of these C5 low profile ramps (#2,3,4 show a Corvette approved review). Anyone with experience on any of these? #2 the most expensive, does not need a front jack. Don't want to build one out of wood. Thanks!
Most of them listed would only allow you to get a floor jack under to continue raising. A standard Rhino ramp or the equivalent along with a couple of short 2" boards to slightly elevate before the ramp will be good enough for an oil change. I certainly would not pay $500 + for any plastic ramp. I've owned the same pair of Rhino's for almost 30 years and nothing has been able to destroy them. Put down a couple of rubber mats if on a slick surface to prevent them from sliding.
Edit: Seems there has been a design change with Rhino ramps and I can no longer recommend the latest design. Look for something solid, without any gaps.

Thanks JDMVETTE! You are correct...buy once, cry once....very viable alternative...going to study it further and call Race Ramps with a few questions. THANK YOU!
I have the two piece RaceRamps too, I made the mistake of buying the Rhino ramps and sold them, nothing like having the ramps move while driving up on them.
The RaceRamps will not do that.
Heck I have QuickJacks and today they failed and fluid pissed out all over, I broke out the VERY trusty RaceRamps
These are almost 30 years old and have been tested over and again with the likes of tractors and 45' tri-axle trailers. Yes, they will sometimes slide on a slick surface...nothing a mat won't solve.
These were purchased for a specific vehicle to aid in the loading on a trailer...
Purchase what you want or need. I for one would find little satisfaction in bragging over a set of plastic ramps I spent over $500 for...many other things I can put that money toward.
I use the 40$ rhino rampsfrom walmart the back stock height to check auto transmission fluid the back will go up easy. The front is too low im looking for the same upfront smaller ramps or the double type of ramps.
Yes the ramps will slide i used them multiple times purchasing for the rear in reverse. One time one slid out and jumped under the rear on one side leaving the other side up on one ramp. It jumped and cracked the good rocker panel but still sat just above the ramp for me to slide it out. Of course it was no fault of my own but may need a spotter to ensure the ramps are straight and even not kicking out on one side.

Those harbor freight ones I have go under the front of my lowered Zoh,
I made my own out of 2x12s. Bulky and heavy, but safer than most of the stuff on the market right now. I'll try and remember to snap some pics this evening.
Those made of wood are fine, but they are extremely heavy and hard to store/move around...not to mention the price of wood nowadays lol. Rhino ramps are rated at 12000/16000 pounds and believe me I have tested them.
