Other than CarFax does anyone know how to find a C5 you used to own? I bought a 2001 as my first Vette a long time ago. I know where my 2007 and 2014 are now which I sold but would love to know where my first is now. VIN: 1G1YY22G515120228.
Funny story. I did a 411 PCM conversion on my 97 C5 and when I did that the PCM comes with the VIN locked into it from the car it originated from.
Took the vin from HP tuners and just simply google searched it. Yup it was a 2002 or 3 Z06 in a wrecking yard in the midwest somewhere smashed all to hell.
If you haven't already try a simple internet search of the VIN.
I'm not sure what "correction to record" means. That was back in 2009.
It was still on the road as of October. Maybe get in touch with the shop that serviced it and ask them to pass your info on to the owner so he can contact you?
I searched your photo with Google lens and I could find two articles about that crash on Salisbury Park drive in Nassau but couldn't pin a VIN number to it.
The wrecked photos are not mine. Never had body side molding and I bought without chrome rims. Do hope those involved in the crashes are ok. The guy that bought it was in NY

Thank you! It had 94k or so when I sold it in 2007 after buying it in 2001.
