Hey David, I don't know how old you are and your I don't know your personal life. But have you thought about joining the military machine? They have awesome benefits, and you can do a stint of 3 years minimum. While there you can learn a trade that will serve you well in the real world. Times are tough right now for sure but just take your time and figure it out because it sounds like you are about to make a life changing decision. And like @road pilot mentioned talk to your church folks for support. Good luck brother and peace be with you. Cheers!!!

Hey man, The great thing about forums, is you can connect with people you wouldn't usually come in contact with.

I find myself agreeing with just about every post you make. You are a real asset to this community.

I appreciate the honesty and just wanted to give you some encouragement. Hang in there, man.

I like your white ZO6, you are lucky. You
don't see many of those.
Good luck
yes I have, I’ve got a great group we meet up with after church and every other Thursday, the problem is really me, I don’t know where I want to go next. My experience is in retail management and also mechanical work, but I have no interest in doing either of those for the next 30 years to be honest

I’m only 28, but the military isn’t something I would consider anymore. Plus, my wife needs me to fix all the cars and the house

Thank you sir, glad to see some familiar names still posting. Facebook groups just sure aren’t the same as a good forum.

That's a rare color. Definitely keep that car forever if you can.

Are you in one of the trades? I work for a gov defense contractor and quite a few people in the machine shop, and production lines came from automotive repair backgrounds.
I work in a lab that calibrates equipment...you should look into that... mechanical work but you don't get dirty and the hours are usually pretty good.

certainly not going to sell it, I really love the car and driving it just as much as when I bought it, and my wife would never let me get rid of it. That’s interesting though, I had a friend who started his career working for a defense contractor and loved it. Might shoot you a PM later to ask a couple questions

Just noticed that you are in N Carolina. If not interested in the military, you can still work on a base as a contractor. As much as I remember there are at least 5 military installations in North Carolina. Maybe check into one of those for contractor type work. You never know what's available unless you check it out brother. Cheers!!!

One more suggestion.
Sit down without your wife and get a piece of paper and
write down all of your accomplishments so far.
Next wrote what are your best points than what are your worst.
And last what jobs you would like to have and then what jobs you
would not want to do. Be honest with yourself. It's not always the
money but self fullment. It may take more training. Only you with the
help of God will find your destiny.
Good luck

The weather seems to be holding out today so I decided to drive the corvette to a wedding we’re going to. Probably end up driving about 100 miles today and I’ve been grinning from ear to ear
