I've driven mine in the rain, on a racetrack. That's got to add some $$$ to my current value.

The C5 in my avatarI was bought with 28K miles and it was sold with 137K miles. That thing got driven rain or shine and I think it might have seen a dust storm also. I used to drive it to the grocery store. It was lietrally driven all the time regardless. At one point i had two set of rear wheels with different rubber just in case. 😂

The windsheild wipers work great! On the way to the Black Hills Corvette Classic in 2017

Then last year during the 50th Black Hill Corvette Classic, running from Soiux Falls, SD to Sperfish, SD.

Cheers,

Any time I see this on any used car I think two things.

1 - Liar
Or
2 - Loser

If a legit 2, I typically take it to mean they know nothing of mechanics and are the mid-lifer type of owner. Car could have serious issues and they'd not know it. These guys are the same ones who bust out receipts for labor or work done and list off the name of Joe Local as though some sort of AMAZING tuner shop (what do you mean you haven't heard of them?) where all they've done is basic belt swaps and oil changes - and often done it wrong somehow.

On the plus side, the greater number of these guys think that abusing the car means highway acceleration or accidentally chirping them off a light.

Bottom line is we all think we're cool. And we all love driving and owning these cars. But not everyone knows the difference between egr and air, and many are afraid to do anything other than clean the car because they don't know what anything is under the hood.

Bottom line, caveat emptor.

I think that most cars have been caught in the rain a time or two but to call them liars or losers come on. I avoid bad weather days and won’t take my cars out when I know it’s going to rain and work on my project cars those days. It probably implies they are concerned about the car and it’s mostly related to detailing them, at least that’s why I avoid bad weather days. Wet roads get everything dirty on cars. Some of us don’t just wash them we like everything to stay looking new, nothing really wrong with that. I do almost all my own maintenance including full engine builds on project cars but that doesn’t make me any better then someone that pays to have it done. That’s only because I had to learn how to do it or couldn’t have it when I was much younger and now do it because I actually enjoy it.

Nope, not my intentions at all. I have too many toys I guess and it’s not my daily. I took the original wheels off because to me the factory silver just looks like a dirty wheel to me. I installed a set of factory takeoff chromed alcoas. I have a dedicated 8 second 1/4 mile drag car so hopping the Vette up is something I really don’t want to do. Thats how I wound up with the drag car from a cherry 69 Camaro. Been there and have punched the ticket. Have a motorcycle and if it’s nice out, guess what’s coming out. I drive a company service truck during the weekdays and Honestly don’t feel like driving on beat up roads and in traffic when I get home. Let me just say this, when I bought the vette I did a couple of club shows. Watching from across the lot seen a spectator checking it out while gullzing a big gulp. Dropped the big gulp over the passenger door and when it hit the ground splashed up and into the passenger compartment over the seat. Nope,I don’t keep my toys clean so someone with who doesn’t give $hit and has no investment can tear it up I don’t lean on peoples cars or touch them and expect the same courtesy.
As far as the original tires go, I wasn’t saving the tires, just the original wheels. I never broke them down off the rims yet if I ever will.
