Drove my 99 to work today. Glanced out the break room window (got a close spot) and thought "WOW that's a sexy car!"
She still has it after all these years in spite of being eligible for OH Historic plates next yr.
C6/7/8's be damned.................................. ..................
I know what you mean. Sometimes I see my car and just marvel at how awesome I still think it is after all these years. It's still as cool now as when I bought it. I think the C5 realy is timeless.

Yes, the C5 still looks very good even though it is at a minimum 18 years old. I currently have a C7, but if I could have I would still have a C5 in the garage.
I walk out of work everyday and see the 5 sitting in the parking lot sitting with its aggressive low front stance ,with just wet looking paint after 24 years! - I get the compliments and some noncar people think it’s even a very newer model - love it! 😂😂😂
Thanls for this. As i was loggin in I was thinking for the money I'm putting in the basket case C5 I bought, I could've gotten a C6 in good shape.
I spent a summer in '04 selling Chevy's at a volume Corvette dealer in K.C. that was my first real exposure to Corvette. Something about seeing all those C5's every day.
I truly enjoy walking into my garage and seeing my spiral gray vert. I was never a silver or gray color kind of guy but l feel my car looks amazing. You are right....it never gets old.....too me. I posted pics of her back in early July.
To me the C5 is a perfect cross between the old Vette and the new Vette. It can still be wrenched on without needing a PHD in computer technology and still rides and performs with manners not found in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.
The C5 sure is a beaut! I still remember the first time seeing one at my local dealership. Had my Z/28 in for service and the service manager took me into the garage to show me the first C5 they received. It was torch red and just amazing. I knew then and there that I would have one.
The C5 IS timeless....the smooth round corners, minimum embellishments, eye popping personality and love of novice mechanics....I agree with all above...the perfect transition between those generations before and those after.....the future heart pounding popular equivalent '57 chevy 2-door hardtops and '56 Ford 2-door Crown Vics......and others of choice!
Pretty sure that doesn't affect the beauty of the car. Speaking as a previous c6 and c7 owner.... I prefer the design of the c5. But performance wise, they are all wonderful.
