I personally have Speed Engineering headers, 2 and half years installed and have had no problems. I was surprised at how easy they were to install. Passenger side went in from the top, drivers side went in from the bottom. I left mine unwrapped but did wrap my starter with some heat reflective tape. I paid 415 shipped to my door. I went with new GM metal gaskets and bought new band clamps to help seal better. I just couldn't justify spending 1k plus or more on headers but that's just me.
what heat reflective tape did you use? How long was the install for you?

I think it's called Design Engineering, I found it at AutoZone, it's pretty wide, about as wide as the starter actually and I put 2 layers of it around the starter and used metal zip ties for extra security. I also wrapped the wires as well.
I did mine on jackstands, if you have a lift I'd expect install to be a bit faster but it took me about 5 hrs start to finish. I removed my starter, alternator, spark plugs z and coil packs. I did spray the original manifold bolts with PB blaster and let it soak a while before attempting to break them loose. I did struggle with getting the starter wires back into place since there isn't much room to work. I took a pic of the wires before removing it to be sure it went back the right way. Wasnt hard at all and this was my first header install.

Do the 1 7/8 Kooks match up?
I have the magnaflow axle back and they matched up fine, I'm pretty sure any 2.5in axle back will match up. You may want to call and make sure
