Does anyone know where to find a C5 windshield weatherstrip? Why is this part so hard to come by - you would think one of the manufacturer's would be making it.
GM discontinued the part. Rumors are the Corvette rubber will be making an aftermarket version, but they are not available yet. When replacing the winshield, it is possible to reuse the old one, but you must be VERY careful removing it.
I just heard back from Corvette Rubber - they sent the mold back to the tool maker for a couple of modifications and hope to have it available within a month or so. 👍
I think I likely need a steering column sensor, too - getting a lot of "service active handling" - is that the issue that makes the steering wheel whine, too? I'm working on a list.
I had a local small shop do mine and they were able to reuse the old weather strip ,but it was only a few years old as I had to replace windshield before. He did a nice job on it and never questioned it. Safe lite wouldn’t touch it without a new part.

You must?.. You?.. Lotsa luck .. A competent glass guy?.. Good luck with that one... The state of California says cracked windshield means that you park the car till fixed (or go to jail?)... GM has yet again dropped Corvette people in the shtuff.
So I bought the weather strip for the top of the windshield now how do I go about installing it without it looking like a dump? I was going to first try to salvage my original by removing one side that has become unglued and re-glue it but I don't know that it will look good. Anyone have any advice. I dont know if GMPartsDirect has anymore of them but mine came in and it is indeed the correct part.
