Would this clutch live/hold on LS1 with A and A supercharger or ECS on street, stock LS1 with headers and supercharger?
Considering 4.10 gears and budget headers, might as well put in a new clutch while it’s apart since it’s original, clutch works fine but slave has leaked a couple of times.
Car might not ever get a supercharger or cam and heads, just 4.10 gears and headers LS6 intake, and mail order tune, but really won’t know until it’s done if minor mods will satisfy me, I’m just trying to make the car more fun to drive.
I’m sure plenty of guys running a s/c are using the LS7 clutch kit. It will hold up just fine, depending on what you plan to do with the car. Mainly some aggressive street driving on decent gripping tires? I’m sure it will do fine. Really hard launches several times a season at the drag strip with drag radials/Hoosiers? You would probably want a better clutch. An occasional test & tune run at the strip on average aggressive launch with good tires? should be just fine.
I'd be more concerned with your gear choice. 4.10 gears don't pair all that well with a supercharger. You'll have a hard time hooking the tires with that gear combined with a blower. If you aren't adding a blower, the stock clutch will be just fine. If you're going to upgrade the clutch to hold big power, then you should rethink your gear choice. To answer your original question, the LS7 clutch is good for up to around 500-550 RWHP.
