Previous owner provided this HB & Bolt Kit. When upgrading from stock, I’ve normally seen Pin Kit installations. This (pictured) appears to be a Woodruff Key style. I have not pulled the stock balancer but I am assuming stock has the woodruff key style? If so I am sure I will order a new one….
If I'm not mistaken you will have to use some rtv sealant to fill up the key slot in the balancer before you install the bolt since there is no key way in the crankshaft.
yup won’t be using this one than… I will order one with a drill pin design….

A pin kit will work with that HB. My ATI Super Damper is channeled just like that. You drill the crank, install the pin, install the HB with the pin in the channel. Fill the channel the rest of the way with high temp goop.
If you’re not pinning it to the crank just fill the channel with goop before you install it.
I just counted the splines on the outer band. It has eight groves. My stock LS1 only has six grooves. I would almost assume this one was meant for a kit that would have wider pulleys installed at all points, or even meant to be used with a blower, turbo or supercharger anyways. I might just post it for sale…..

What is the part number on your Summit Balancer? The Summit SUM-C2501 bracket racer SFI damper is designed specifically for Corvette pulleys. This is the Balancer part number that I bought for my 2006 Convertible 6.0L Corvette and the Balancer that many install on their C5 LS1 and LS6 and C6 LS2 and LS3 Corvettes unless they choose an underdrive Balancer. The extra 2 ribs are so that you can install a supercharger later down the road. There are pin kits that work with the Summit SUM-C2501 Balancer. These dampers are spin-tested to 12,500 rpm and carry an SFI-18.1 strength rating.
Would you mind linking me to an appropriate pin kit?

What is the purpose of filling the keyway slot when not used?
