Convertible top weather stripping question ?

I noticed today these 2 splits in the door weather stripping on my C5 convertible, they seem to be on both sides, is this normal ?

My Vert has the same cut on both.

OK ok ok.. here's what you want to do... As you fold the canvas top into its folded down position under the boot... Watch that there crack in the weather strip ... Does it widen? and how much?.. Good idea to NOT glue it!

That's so you can fold the top.
My targa has the same split to remove the roof.

That "crack", as you call it, has to be there, as C5Arlen noted. If it wasnt, when you try to put the top down, it wouldnt go, unless you forced it, which would tear the weatherstrip in two.....
