Well folks, its that time of year when us northern residents have to put our cars into storage. Put my "Corvette" into storage yesterday. Have already had a couple of snow falls. It will be like getting a new "Corvette" in the spring!
Well, for the first year since I have owned my Vette (2010) I am not putting it away for the winter this fall. Unfortunately, the reason is that I never got it out of storage this past Spring.
This will be my 1st year of having to put it away. I am expecting withdrawls in a month or so. I'll have to figure out something else to occupy my time.
I year round drive our Corvette in the Chicago suburbs. So there is no "have to put it away" for us.
Which isn't to say I daily drive it (we have 3 cars; the other 2 are AWD and are better suited and thus no need to drive our Corvette in winter weather). I have all season tires on our Corvette because there are nice days, albeit cold, that I will winter drive our Corvette and it is no worse for it (in fact I suppose an argument might be made it is better for it).
No snow just yet here in western new york... once it decides to snow officially than I'll garage the C5. Up until then, still driving it 3/4 days a week. Hoping to still drive it at least once or twice a month, when theres no snow on the ground or salt. To at least get some of the fluids running.
The 99 gets flogged year round as the daily driver. Snow, Ice, Hail, Sleet, Slush, Mud, Pollen, Heat, Rain, Wind, Wet Leaves, Grinding and Paving, Police, Imports.... you name it, she fends it off.

Still decent weather here, but I know the day is coming when the car will go into hibernation. Hopefully that won’t happen for maybe a couple more months, or until a significant snowfall where the street department has to throw out salt on the roads.
One of the perks (which seem to be getting fewer as time passes) of living in SoCal. Not only do I get to drive my vert year round, I do so almost exclusively with the top down.

Same here............................(in western NY)
Now you're talkin'!! I had Cats and Polaris!! '03 800XCR Triple=157hp/48 cubic inches!!! Now if the LS7 would put out almost 3-1/2 hp/cubic inch!! Polar-*** had no head issues, either!!!
I’m in the far northwest suburbs of Chicago. I insure mine year round in case we get some days with the snow cleared off the streets. My insurance is only about 45 dollars a month for the vette, so, why not. Storage insurance is 6-10 dollars a month. Saving 30 bucks a month isn’t worth it to me. I’ll drive it twice a month for 45 minutes to keep the fluids going through it. Be safe this winter everyone….
