Hi. I just purchased a C5 corvette convertible with 31,000 miles . Question. Can the fog lights be turned on without actually having the lights up and opened ? And also the cruise control, should that have. Switch to activate it ? to show its working , and one more thing ,,,, the little interior lights on my car aren’t working, I’m almost positive it’s not the bulbs. So any ideas on these things ? Thx

1. First twist click on the light stalk plus pressing the fog light button will do this.
2. Same stalk has a slidable switch that controls the CC; readout in the driver's information center AKA DIC
3. To the left of the steering wheel is a push button rheostat dial that controls the interior light intensity.

Welcome to the C5 Corvette world!

Default Interior mirror lights ?

Aren’t the little lights supposed to be “push on - push off”. ? Im not talking about the brightness or dimness. And it’s not the bulbs . Also I had that LMC5 module installed , Would that affect maybe the cruise control or those lights not working by any chance ? I guess I maybe worded original question wrong . Thx

which little lights are you talking about?

Otherwise, the fog light will work as soon as you trigger the fog light button AND have the parking lamps on, first click on the light stalk band, as @jdmvette mentioned.

for the cruise control, there is no reminder nor light to indicate the cruise is on. You activate it by pushing the tip of the light stalk/lever, you deactivate it by pressing the brake pedal ever so lightly, or sliding the button on the stalk/lever to the left most position. Brake pedal is preferable since you can reactivate by pushing the button to the right with the previous selected speed.

extract of the manual :
“1. Move the cruise control switch to ON - on the stalk/lever
2. Get up to the speed you want.
3. Push the SET button at the end of the lever and release it. The cruise set speed will be displayed by the Driver Information Center (DIC) - for a few seconds.
4. Take your foot off the accelerator pedal. The pedal will return to an “idle” position.

Resuming a Set Speed
Suppose you set the cruise control at a desired speed and then you apply the brake or clutch pedal. This, of course, disengages the cruise control. But you don’t need to reset it.
Once you’re going about 25 mph (40 km/h) or more, you can move the cruise control switch to R/A (Resume/Accelerate) briefly. The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display the cruise set speed.
You’ll go right back up to your chosen speed and stay there.

Increasing Speed While Using Cruise Control
There are two ways to go to a higher speed:
1. Use the accelerator pedal to get to the higher speed. The speed will not begin to increase until sufficient pedal travel is achieved. Push the SET button at the end of the lever, then release the button and the accelerator pedal. You’ll now cruise at the higher speed.
2. Move the cruise switch to R/A. Hold it there until you get up to the speed you want, then release the switch. (To increase your speed in very small amounts, move the switch to R/A briefly, then release it. Each time you do this, the vehicle will go about 1 mph (1.6 km/h) faster.)
The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display the cruise set speed.

Reducing Speed While Using Cruise Control
There are two ways to reduce speed while using cruise control:
1. Push in the SET button at the end of the lever until you reach the lower speed you want, then release it.
2. To slow down in very small amounts, push the SET button briefly. Each time you do this, you’ll go about 1 mph (1.6 km/h) slower.
The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display the cruise set speed.

Passing Another Vehicle While Using Cruise Control
Use the accelerator pedal to increase speed. When you take your foot off the pedal, the vehicle will slow down to the cruise control speed you set earlier.”

all the best and have fun with your Corvette.

Default Another question :

My C5 2000 came with a cassette deck. I just bought a CD player in working condition from another corvette owner . I heard something about a ROAM kit in order to make the stick CD player to work in my car . Does someone have a link to make that work , and or is it possible at all to do this change out ? Thx And to reply to back thread , I thought the word “cruise control “ would show on the dash . Also. I just had a professional shop install the LMC5 module for column lock , just for PREVENTATIVE measures and NOW it’s showing have “ column lock serviced ???!!!??! ANY ideas on that ???
