I just found some headunits that are OEM CD players that have been refurbished with Bluetooth. Does anyone have any experience with these. They are available on eBay and also 1 Factory Radio sells them (though they are out of stock). I want to keep my Vette as original as possible but like the idea of streaming music as the reception where I live is horrible for most stations. The cigarette lighter bluetooth has a lot of static also.

If they are original equipment they are wired why would you want them to connect Bluetooth? Apparently my OE is broken and I'd love a refurbished wired one, fir a decent price that is.
Maybe you don't havr the original wiring but want the original player?

you want an original equipment head unit? aren't there tons out there? IIRC, the c5 used the same head unit as the tahoe, and tons of people ditched them, I'd imagine there's tons out there.
****, if I had any ambition and if I could find mine in my basement, I'd give it to you for shipping cost.
Also.. for bluetooth -- PAC sells a bluetooth module that can be added to gm stock vehicles, I think you need to get their gateway module or OEM adapter as well--- it interfaces into the head unit's cd changer inpput plug. I had this years ago -- (like 2005 ish time frame) before I ditched the entire audio system for a dd unit, I see though that they're still selling it.

For clarification I'd take the 12 CD disc Pioneer 25685332 in working condition for shipping cost, not dash head unit. Ty

Just for clarification, I have a current OEM CD stereo that works great. I am happy with the sound, and I want to keep my convertible as close to stock as possible, at least look that way. I was looking for anyone that has experience with the OEM CD stereos that have been refurbished with Bluetooth added to the head unit.

yeah, look at my post. PAC sells a setup.
The stock CD unit has a plug coming out of it that terminates in the passenger footwell to control the cd changer. Even if you don't have a cd changer, it's there.
back in the day, you could plug a PAC interface into this plug, and get bluetooth/ipod/usb music on your stock system-- you can even control the music on the head unit, you'd go into cd changer mode, and the could change the tracks with the next/prev buttons.
I did a quick look on their web site, looks like they still sell what you need -- it's PAC (pacfici audio)-- check them out, maybe give them a call. If I still had my setup I'd just send it to you (I threw all the interface stuff out years ago)

right.. like I said... all that **** is somewhere in my basement in a bin. If I happen to come across it someday and have the ambition to pack it up, I'll let you know, but I wouldn't count on it :-)
I don't know why I kept the CD changer.. even when I took it out 15 years ago I remember thinking no one uses those things any more -- can't believe people stil use them!

Thank you. Some of us like Original Equipment stuff. Ive got a million CD'S. I virtually never use Bluetooth except to send video to my TV.
thank you so much. I finally got a good magazine now the player jams up.

Which adaptor is the right one? I tried to figure out which one but I am unable to do so. Thanks
This was my solution and I've got to say when using Pandora the sound quality of the stereo is absolutely amazing now Virfine Bluetooth FM Transmitter Car, V5.0 Bluetooth Car Adapter, Bluetooth Radio Car, MP3 Player QC3.0 Quick Charge, Hands Free Calling, 2 Playing Modes, Blue led Display, Black, Medium (BH347) https://a.co/d/hNbwpug
LMK if you try it. Not sure how a bt radio could overheat but they admit it is a concern?!?
That looks similar to the PAC adapter I was referring to. Same idea. Assuming it's good quality , something like that is without a doubt the best way to go.
