I've been debating removing the sun visors in my 50th convertible. Long ago I replaced my sun visors in my 99 c5, so I know how to remove them. The 03 visors are in perfectly fine condition. They are just one extra hassle in using the top latches. They also partially block my view (I'm only 6'1" but I would have a better line of sight with them gone). I've never used them. They have the ugly sticker on them talking about the safety of using the back seat (really?). And end up tucking them down at car shows. Anybody run without visors and if so how do you feel about that? Downsides?
I have a 2004 convertible and I had my vanity lights removed and then had the visors re-covered with leather. Living in Florida, I drive top down most of the time and I had to repair the vanity lights lids twice due to the plastic hing pins becoming brittle. If one of the little clips breaks, the lid is not strong enough to keep the push pin light switch pressed down. The vanity light then stays on even after you turn the car off, resulting in a parasitic draw on the battery.
I thought about just removing them, but I do use them on occasion, especially this time of year when the sun is lower in the sky, plus it looks sort of empty without them, especially if you don't cover the connections holes/grommets.
I did the same a few years back and really like the end result. The Corvette Clips plugs look OEM. View from the cockpit is much cleaner without them in the line of sight and visibility improved, especially for taller drivers. I'm 6'3 and I dislike using visors myself. I even hate it when my passengers flip them down. I for one would never put the visors back in.
Just be sure to always have sunglasses in the center console.
I totally get why people would want them removed, when the top is removed it does create a less feeling open air experience... To each their own of course, I also see why people would want them..... I had an Nc Miata for a very long time and the visors were actually crafted into the windshield frame and never stuck out past the windshield giving a true open air feeling with the top down,,,
I definitely don't feel that when my top is off.....
I'm on the fence about deleting mine as well, it's not fair to criticize the people that do or do not want them....
Go visor-less! A few years ago when I redid my sun visors, I had them out for several weeks and really liked the clean look and the more open view. However, I did put them back in once they were refurbished. However, in 2019 during a multi-day road trip, I got tired of them always being in the way - I have a convertible as well and the visors block too much of the windshield when down, look dorky when flipped all the way up when the top is dropped, and hit the brim of my hat/visor when put midway. So I pulled them off and threw them in the trunk and decided I'm going visor-less from now on. I ordered the plugs from Corvette Clips for the mounting holes, cut off the clip part of the visor clips, and I got this thing (https://sunblocker.store/) for those rare times when I have to deal with sun glare. The Sun Blocker just parks up top near the rear view mirror, pretty much out of the way, and is available anytime I need to move it into position. All you see on the outside is a quarter-sized silver metal disc magnet on the windshield (which I have since swapped out for a black-painted magnet disc so it is even less noticeable). On the rare occasion that I am driving into a low sun, I slide the Sun Blocker in to position.
The one down side is that if you use a sun shade that sits on the dash against the windshield, you don't have the sun visors to hold up the top of the shade.
Remove the sun visors? Not I. Forgetting about the sun for a moment and safety considerations, I need my driver's side for the garage door opener; my wife would not be happy to lose her vanity mirror on the passenger side. In fact for that reason it is the passenger side visor that gets flipped down the most. Happy wife...happy life.
Fun fact. My wife has never sat in my Corvette. So the vanity mirror isn't a thing to worry about for her. However, my daughters do like the Vette and may care. That is definitely a consideration.

I had removed the vanity mirrors when I refurbished my visors several years ago. I had bought aftermarket replacement visors from one of the well-known and respected Corvette suppliers. However, the vanity mirrors kept coming loose - the plastic posts that with melted mushroom heads to hold them on just didn't work. So I just pulled them off, padded out the rectangular holes and used leather slip-on covers. My wife never complained and hasn't since I removed the visors. The only complaint I ever had was my father, who insisted we had to go back to his house so he could get his sunglasses. I even keep extra sunglasses in the car for guests, but he had to have his sunglasses.
I might delete mine. I just changed them last year for new ones and they weren't cheap considering what they are.... and the passenger side is fading differently than the driver side. And the car is garage kept and I don't drive it enough for either of them to be fading.
The only thing I use mine for is to hold the sunshade up when parked. Other than that, I am always moving them one way or the other out of my way. I may delete mine too. I have a 5% strip of tint across the top of my windshield, so never need them for their original use.
