Default Exhaust decision help

Trying to decide on a exhaust system for my 2002 Corvette base. Thinking about the Magnaflow Street axle back or the BBE Prt axle back. Any opinions. Thanks .

I went with Corsa Sport with Corsa X-pipe. It's not over-loud but still sounds good. A little pricey but just about any exhaust for a C5 is.

Trying to stay with in my budget and these two choices keep me under $1500. Thanks for your input .

My 2000 that I picked up 3 weeks ago has the Magna Flow..................Sounds amazing especially with the six speed. I had flowmasters on my C4 and C6 and they were too loud

I've been leaning towards the Magnaflow since I had that system on my 2008 Impala SS and was happy with the quality and sound . I see a lot of people give the Billy Boat system high praise. I'm only going to get one chance at this decision. Thanks for your input.

Best bet is to go on Youtube and listen to (good quality, not phone quality) different exhaust sound recordings. There...are...so...many... on Youtube and a lot of owners did good recordings of interior, exterior, drive-bys, etc to help you narrow it down. BBE has some professional recordings on YT as well.

Actually after searching today, not many good quality videos out there of the Magnaflow that is just a stock engine. Would love a video of the car pulling away and driving by.

Yellow 2007, do you know whether you have the Street or Competition series on your vette .

Magnaflow competition series will be loud, especially with headers.

if your looking for something mellow, get the magnaflow street series. I never heard them on a vette, but my bro put the street series on his mustang GT. Very mellow, quiet at cruising speed, nice sound when you get on it a little bit.

Killian mentioned the Flowmaster system. I am working in my garage with out a lift and I'm concerned that I would not be able to get the car high enough in the air to install the pipes since it doesn't come apart like other kits .

I love the Corse Sport system. Sound is awesome, no droning and not obnoxious. Exhaust is so much a personal choice! Whatever you choose, you will need to lift the car high enough that you can get the over axle part of the exhaust pipes rotated down low enough to get the pipes out form over the axles. Jack stands are NOT high enough! I found a local auto hobby shop and I just rented their 4 post lift for an hour. It is a simple and fast job when you raise the car up to say shoulder height.

Might consider Corsa Extreme part # 14132. It's at the top of my price range. Any opinions. Thanks.

I don't know about the Extreme system. As I pointed out earlier, I went with the Sport system. The Extreme will be loud but like all Corsa exhaust systems there is no drone, which is why I bought it to begin with. Can't stand drone...

You're right, not a whole lot of vids for the Magnaflow on the C5. I guess it's just not a popular exhaust for the C5.
This is all I could find, car doesn't sound like it has headers:

Borla review (outside/inside noise)
BBE exhaust review, great sound recording from this owner (skip to 5:19 mark):

Old vid of the Corsa Sport from the manufacturer:

If I were you, I'd try to find some C5 owners in my area at the local cars and coffee near you or a local Corvette club to hear stuff in person. Luckily the previous owner put an exhaust (XS) on mine so I don't have to go shopping. If I were going to get a new one, I'd probably go Corsa or the Borla for the pop pops but quiet highway manners.

Street.........I couldn't be happier with the sound. Has a nice but civilized idle.

I recently put a Borla Type S Classic on my 2K A4, pretty happy with the sound. Good WFO roar and pretty tame cruising, no drone. I do have 3.15 gearing so the rpm is a bit higher than a standard auto on the highway.

I would recommend a Corsa Sport - great sounding exhaust.

As Cdee63 suggested a Borla S type I did some research and I may decide to go with that . You say no drone issues? Also I would love to consider the Corsa option but it is almost double the price which I can't afford.
