As we all know the headlights on a C5 have the lumen output of a Bic lighter, I have been looking for an improvement, and last week the motor on the pass side stripped the gears. I am really considering putting fixed ones in however I do not like the frog eye look or the sleepy eye look at all, then I came across these. I like the look and the reviews rave about the light output, anybody here have experience with them? Very pricy for sure, however I drive a lot at night and rural Florida is DARK, I am willing to spend the dough to see. I have projectors on my old Jeep with LED bulbs, super bright with no flash from oncoming drivers. If I could get the Vette to have half the lighting the Jeep has I will be very happy. https://sharplightinnovations.com/sh...-v3-headlights
If I had to drive at night (only did once in 8 years of ownership), I would definitely replace the flip up headlights (not only increasing the night vision but also eliminating all the issues with the insane flipping mechanism) with something like shown. They melt into the hood design very nicely, IMHO.
They are well reviewed. Optically the performance is similar to the ACA headlight that sharplight also sells, and probably quite similar performance to the projectors on your jeep. I don't have experience with this kit particularly but all the aftermarket led projectors are pretty much the same. You are paying for the housing and fit/finish in this case.
I know they are heavy but for me having the pop ups is part of the charm of an older car. It sounds like to repair yours, just needs the brass gear upgrade. If you upgrade to this kit you should sell or keep the old assembly. It is not trashed just because of the stripped gear.
Other options are 4EyeC5 low rise and KnightDrive TV low rise units. Both still need pop up function though. Be mindful that while these are better than OEM they can "jiggle" if you have worn lift mechanism bushings/arms due to the sharp cutoff they produce.
Hey there, that's my car in the Sharp Light ad, bought the car, had the frog lights HID. The Sharp Lights are 10 times better. Installation was pretty straight forward and customer service was very good. Pricey, yes, but highly recommend if you're lookin for a fixed style upgrade

Thanks for all the responses! I do love the look, when they are down, and nostalgia of the popups. I never have however liked the look of the popups popped up, seems they fell off a shelf and landed on the hood. I think my mind is made to pick up a set when I recover from the RMS leak fix bill...
I have a set installed on my 2000 coupe. My car had the horrid frog eyes installed when I bought it. I did not have the original pop-ups or I would have gone with the ACA style from Sharp Light. The SLC V3 are MUCH better performing and looking than the frog eyes. However, they were in my case, very challenging to get installed so they sit right with the body lines, and frankly they still do not sit perfect but not bad. My biggest issue is they do not have a DOT marking on them, and we have state inspection in VA, so I can only use one shop that looks the other way on the inspection.
As stated, they are hands down the best C5 fixed headlight on the market! I prefer the pop-up headlights. I run the ACA style headlights from the same vendor. Knight drive TV also sells a great pop-up option. Either of these provide excellent light for night driving. However, if I was going to go with a fixed headlight on the C5 the V3 light cannon would be my choice.
Just so you can see them in action, I have attached pictures of my ACA flip up headlights from sharp light innovations. They offer a nice crisp cutoff and have no light scatter. Low beams High beams

Never had any DOT or inspection issues with the ACA setup. I live in VA and have inspection too. I would reach out to George at Sharp Light. I'd be shocked if the light cannons aren't DOT approved. He can probably provide you with whatever you need to pass inspection.

I think that's nature of the C5 and body panel fitment. The hood/fender/bumper all need to come together really well to look proper and "tight". Then getting the headlight covers to align with all of those is not "hard to do" but a PITA process.

Yeah, my panels are not perfect either but the SLC's are a PITA to line up for sure, very fiddley. I have bought a set of pop-ups, but they are red, so I will install them when I get the car painted down the road and will do the ACA or Knightdrive (if he ever has the bezels completed) when I install the pop-ups.

I have 4eyeC5 kit and the sharp cutoff jiggle is annoying me. I'm thinking to get the KNTV kit due to it being lighter weight and maybe less stress on the lifting assembly to cure some jiggle. If not, I may have to go fixed headlight SLC V3's.

So I have their ACA lights, and they're super bright and well made, but I have that "jiggle" and it drives me crazy. Nothing seems worn when I try to move the fixtures by hand. Can you specify the parts you're referencing that might mitigate the jiggle?
Also I can say that you can't go wrong with sharp light! It's a great company to deal with! I'm actually testing out some new led tail light bulbs for them as well.
Walmart led bulbs in left tail lights and sharp light innovations led bulbs in the right tail lights
MWWarlord has swayed my decision with those pics of the ACA pop ups. As much as I dislike the look with lights on and popped up, I like the look of them closed that much better than the exposed ones. The trouble getting body parts to line up doesn't sound fun either. So I went back to order a set and of course they are sold out....

Send George an email, I'm sure he can whip you up a set

Both are great choices. The stealth light cannons have slightly better high beams and the current ACA headlights have slightly better low beams. We expect them back in stock in early-mid march. If you'd like, you can let me know your email and I can put you on a notification list.
