Today I pulled the 3.15 diff out of my '02 Coupe. Tomorrow, a 3.73 diff from Murica Performance is going in, along with a set of front and rear C6Z shocks. I'm looking forward to a much improved driving 'Vette...
I did 3.73 and 3200 converter last year. Pulls harder in every gear now. You might need a tire now if you expect to launch it. I’m only on street tires. Best 60foot is 1.95 12.5 @ 111 quarter mile. Hopefully drag radials will get me a 1.75 60 foot and a 12.2-12.3 quarter mile.
I got mine put back together but forgot pictures. But it's just the reverse of what I posted yesterday. I got the C6Z shocks put on too. Bled the brakes all around. I got to drive it a little but being new gears, I can't get on it yet. I'm supposed to break the gears in for 500 miles. Aggravating but I'll get over it.. But it already feels better and I barely mashed the skinny pedal. :-) This is going to be fun!

Good luck and have fun.
do you have any other mods then the gear and stahl? Headers, air filter, cam, exhaust?
Factory stock internals, LG headers, cats, VR intake, tuned.
275 35 18 front tires
305 30 19 rear tires.
need a drag radial to launch it even at 340 wheel horsepower
currently running Bridgestone potenza pole position tires, and when I ran the 12.5 @ 111
You dynoed 340whp or a guess? how about torque and what dyno dynotjet 248 or mustang dyno?
Is yours 01 with ls6 intake? VR powerduct or whole ram air into fog lights good for 30-40hp i read above 40mph.
How do the 305/30/19s fit in the rear when jacked up they put the inner wheel towards the inside by inner fender is there a finger gap or less then that close to hitting inside the inner fender welll? I realize the wheels stick out further once lowered down or wheel change. My 295/35/18 re760s had a 1 finger gap when jacked all the way up was making sure they cleared before lowering it. Atlas has some 305/30/18 tires that are 280$ a pair I'm thinking of getting after Bridgestone's
The factory rear 18x9.5 275/40/18s barely cleared were real close to the front inner fender 7mm screws when turning but i did manage to take the car out to eat no problems so 275/35/18 should be just a tad shorter and have decent clearance.
3.15s i have same factory you could cruise75-8-90 2500 rpms easy. May i ask what rpm are you at at 70 and 80 mph now vs the 3.15s or what was the old highway rpm and speed and new highway rpm with same speed.
Alot of people use auto racecars not sure why i loved 6 speeds the gearing is a bit better but i guess a nice 4k lockup stahl could get you there.
Even back then i think 4 speed cars in late 60s 70s were faster.\
How are the base c6 shocks compared to the c5 shocks? c6 z06 shocks any different? I was told they put new shocks on mine since the f45 or adjustments oil had leaked out of valves leaving me normal base shocks which i prefer. The **** looks cool but the less wiring and f45 box is alot easier to work with.
How can you tell base c6 shocks from base c5 shocks?
I haven't had it out on the highway to see what the RPMs will be at 80 or 90. Hopefully I'll have time the next few days. As far as other mods, I've installed Blackhawk air intake and Corsa sport exhaust with Corsa X-pipe. I'm not after a track or drag car, but I do want it to be a quicker daily driver. And gears seem to be the best way to achieve that. I may end up going cam and heads down the road though. We'll see.
And yes, the C6Z shocks feel better. But again, I haven't been able to do much driving since I put it back together yesterday. Just a little bit around town, but it definitely accelerates quicker and handles better. I just can't get on it yet to really tell until I get some break-in miles on the diff.
As far as telling the difference between stock C5 and C6Z shocks, the Z shocks are bigger around. It's visually easy to see the difference when next to each other.

340 wheel horsepower is not a guess. Tuned by Speed INC in Schaumburg IL back in 2007. As far as my tires, they fit fine. No clearance issues, and my car is not lowered. Rims are from tire rack, made for a C5, 50mm offset front, 54mm offset rear. Rear tires poke about 1/8 inch, no rubbing issues.
Someone had another question about RPMs and speed. I have the 3.73 gears.
60mph = 2000RPM
70mph = 2400RPM
80mph = 2700RPM
85mph = 2900RPM
If you cruise expressways over 85mph, your on your own. I don’t want that ticket.

Watching as I'm planning a CAM/Rear Gear upgrade for later this year.
Curious as to why you went with an entirely rebuilt rear differential vs. just swapping the rear gears? I was told the 3.15 (Performance Axle) housing can accommodate the 3.73 rear gears.
