The biggest problem with a used cluster is that the mileage stays with the cluster. I have a used standard cluster for sale, and it would instantly increase depicted mileage as 120K or so. Ouch
I have seen reports that they can be reset, but that would take some more research.
I had a 2004 Tahoe that did this. If you are handy you can take the cluster apart and replace the servo motors for the needles. Back when I did it, it cost a grand total of $36 to do all 6. I had 2 or 3 that would act crazy sometimes. Maybe the Corvette's are the same.
