I have a 2000 base conv, I do not track the car but where I live in East TN has a lot of fun mountain roads between TN, NC, & GA that ask for aggressive driving some times.
My question is now I need to do a brake job which is the better brake set up Powerstop Z23 or Z26?
Thanks in advance for any feed back.
Neither is going to be super great for actual performance driving. I have the Z23 rotors. I used to have the pads that come with it, but the pads don't have great bite, and are VERY prone to heat soak. The same is true of the Z26 as well. The Powerstop rotors are fine, but If I were you, I would consider Hawk HPS 5.0 pads instead. They dust a lot more than ceramic pads, but the performance is night and day better.
For a high quality low dust performance street brake pad take a look at the Carbotech 1521 brake pad 100% non-corrosive dust will not harm your wheels, paint or rotors. Carbotech brake pads are 100% made in the USA and contain NRS Technology Here is a link to explain further what NRS technology is exactly: http://www.nrsbrakes.com

I have used stop tech pads, a couple of sets Hawk HPS pads, never used hawk 5.0 pads, recently installed hawk HP plus pads, and stainless steel brake lines. Let me tell you from experience, the hawk HP plus pads are night and day difference from the stop tech and hawk HPS pads. The car bites hard and will stop harder than the other pads. Hawk HP plus pads do make a little noise because it’s about the closest thing you can get to an entry level race pad. I don’t have enough miles on them to comment on dust. Point being, hawk HP plus pads bite the hardest out of the pads that I have used. I can’t comment on carbotech pads either, never used them. I’m currently sold on hawk HP plus pads.
