C5 sun visor clips
Does anyone make them in metal/aluminum.
Weakest. Part. Ever.
Convertible here, so they're stressed a lot here in Florida.
Anyone?

They're such an inexpensive part to begin with just carry 2 spares. I'm not aware of any aftermarket manufacturers who make them out of aluminum....

They're cheap and easy to swap out. You might be able to scan the part and get it CNC out of aluminum, but it wouldn't be at all cost effective.

So the little bitty purple people person tapping the foot is also waiting? Or is there other connotation? 🤨

The word "Retainer" was missing in the post. Now I also understand.

I know they're cheap. Thought someone with ingenuity might have come up with a permanent solution. The retainers get exercised a LOT in Florida.

Had three C5s covering a total of better than 17 years and the only problem I had with the retainers was occasionally the part of the retainer that the metal rod clamped into would wear and the sunvisor woruld rattle. Probably would not have that problem is the retainer was made out of metal, but I have not seen anyone that makes such a part.

I don't use the visors so no issues. I usually have a hat on.
My wife uses them in her car like she is presenting arms.
