snapped rear leaf bolt
On Monday as i left a stop sign, loud pop. I initially thought a tire, but i got out and saw the leaf was low, and bolt dragging. I was close enough to limp it into my work yard lot. I came back wed. with some grade 8 hardware, got it back together and had someone drive it home for me. I ordered new bushings for both sides, i figured if one side broke, may as well replace everything. Question is, on the one that already broke. there is a metal plate assembly on the end of the leaf spring. appears to be held on by 4 fasteners. my guess is it keeps the leaf from ripping apart where the bolt goes through. This thin metal plate got a little twisted up. just one corner pulled up. I didnt really have any intention of swapping the leaf or going to coils. but am i OK to just bend that plate section back when i swap out all the bushings?
