Group 75
  • Height (in): 7-3/16 Inch
  • Length (in): 9-11/16 Inch
  • Width (in): 7-5/8 Inch
Group 78
  • Height (in): 7-1/4 Inch
  • Length (in): 10-3/4 Inch
  • Width (in): 6-7/8 Inch
These are from two batteries at O'Reilly. I'd get out to the car and do some measuring.

I didn’t know if the earlier C5s that used a 78 battery had a different battery box than the later c5s that used a 75 battery

I put in a Red top in my 03 last January, just like I did with my last C5 and I have never had a problem with a optima so far ?

78 fits just fine. I have a 34/78 dual terminal in mine for my stereo system. Zero issues.

This will fit your tray. It’s a tiny bit larger than stock, but fits fine. Only thing I had to do was grind the rubber hold down a little bit. No biggie. Just make sure to get the correct post configuration.

Advanced Auto purchased DieHard a couple years ago, so you can find them at all their stores.

The DieHard Platinum AGM is a very good battery - I ran one in my 2003 and never had a problem.

I just bought a AGM Duracell group 78 from Sams club a month ago. Perfect fit and great price. Even got it with a discount.

That would have been one of the original Sears Platinums, aka Odyssey Extremes. I had one in for literally many years - about 12-13 yrs IIRC.

The new ones are from a different supplier and have a slightly different spec.

I got a size 78 Duracell AGM at Sammie's last month. Fit like a glove.
This follows going through two Optima Red Tops in five years, so the 3 year replacement warranty looked good.
