Default EU spec LS1 vin decoding help!!!

Hi all.

I'm trying to figure out on the browser a good vin decoder to use and I'm really struggling with that since I'm curious about what d@mn engine does my manual 01' c5 coupé has.

I know it's an LS1 of course but there were some variations after Y2K and the power raised from 345 to 350crank hp with the help of the LS6 intake and also a slight bump in torque.

My car is supposed to be a 2001 and (as I've read) all 01's should be 350hp.

The thing is that my car is a European Spanish version imported in may 2001 and first registered on December 2001. On my paperwork it's written 253kw of power which is 339.2hp... I'm quite concerned and disappointed about this cuz I thought I had an LS6 intake on my car.
maybe that declared power is written like that due to some EU tax regulations or something.. idk.

Can someone help me?

My VIN is: 1G1YY22G515125333

Thanks in advance!

I can decode it for you, but it won't tell you anything about the power. Look at the part number on your intake - that will tell you which version it has. The LS6 part number should be 12573572

Okay I'll look for that next time I take the car this coming weekend. Thanks @Stingroo

Well, the code is definitely for a 2001 car, which matters more than whatever appears on your paperwork or how its officially classed on a government computer . On that basis, I’d say there’s a very good chance it’ll be the higher bhp/torque output.

I hope that brother. That was the reason I bought it thinking it was a 2001 model year. Production might be from April (should be) and that's 2 months before switching to the 2002 model year in the production line.

That's not true. There is no set time when they switch model years. Every GM plant does it at a different time of year based on sales and production.

Did you look at the intake manifold yet?

Not yet mate. The car's at a garage at about 15min from home. Will go there on Saturday with also a new battery. I'll let you know about it as soon as I check that part no.
Take a look to this website:

That's the alternative part number for an ls6 intake. So you're good 👍
