Hi folks, I have a 99 FRC , 6 sp manual that has a set of Borla touring axle back exhaust and the cats are still on the car.
It's not loud enough, would like to hear the gurgling etc especially with deceleration.
Live in Florida and difficult to remove the cats.
Anyone have any ideas about an exhaust that may work without removing the cats?

I did the bypass tubes on my stock pipes. You probably could do this too - or I would go Corsa next and sell your Borlas. Corsas rock!

Florida does NOT have inspections or smog certifications. 🇺🇸

Pretty much all cat-back exhausts will allow you to keep your factory cats, because, well they install from the cat-back. You have some great recommedations above. SLP Loudmouths are basically straight pipes, bring your ear plugs.
Check with a tuner. They may be able to add the burble, without changing anything other than the tune.
When I had my car tuned post cam/head/headers I ask that they NOT make it sound like a four banger and four inch fart pipe, farting and popping when shifting every gear. Mission accomplished, post tune, no farting and pooping, just a nice burble on de-cel as it should be.
I have PRTs and yes I like them and they will be what you are looking for. They have been on my car almost 20 years. Over those years I have had many compliments on the tone. If it’s coming off the turnpike with wide open throttle or sitting at a stop light. That’s how I judge them. How other’s like them also
Get a set of long tube headers and a mid-pipe with high flow cats. I think this will give you the sound you want plus another 40 HP or so. The other option would be changing from the Borla Touring to a Borla ATAK. That should be loud enough.
Yet! Given the population boom Florida is experiencing, I suspect they will have them sometime within the next 5-10 years.....
Uh, no… 😀
They got rid of inspections because:
1. It was a huge expense/pain for the state to manage, AND nearly all car engines still operating in any number have computer engine management that makes eliminating emissions components out of reach for nearly all owners. I know, makes too much sense for blue states.
2. Fl never has had air pollution.
3. Too damn hot to bother.
4. It’s Florida. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

^ borlas used to be known for drone city. I had a borla stinger as my first aftermarket exhaust and the drone was awful.
I believe the more modern borlas have solved this problem, however.
Oh ok, Borla advertises "No Drone" but I never been inside a C5 with Borla's so I don't have real world experience. I have heard the Corsa and they sound really nice.
I have a Borla X pipe that I plan on using. Does anyone know if a Borla X Pipe will work with a Corsa? I saw a Corsa for sell on CraigsList the other day.
